As those of you who are more acquainted with Destiny lore know, Shin Malphur is a renegade hunter who was the original wielder of the Last Word. Dredge Yor is a former Guardian who turned to the Darkness after being corrupted by his gun, the Thorn. Since they're both enemies of the Traveler... technically... I guess... so let's make some strikes outta them!
DREDGEN YOR - THORNS AND ROSES: You start the strike on the Moon, in the Hellmouth area. A large portal (like the ones from TTK story missions) stands unopened near the edge of the pit, and Ghost tells you to investigate. After scanning it, Ghost tells you that he can probably get it open, but that his probing has attracted Hive enemies. A Wizard's poison smoke envelops the area to keep you nearby, and three waves of Hive pass through the portal. On the third wave, you have to defeat Arrok, the Gatekeeper (a Hive ultra knight), after which Ghost tells you that you can pass through the portal. After your fire team enters, you find that you're in the Crucible map "Cauldron", and it's filled with Hive enemies. After clearing them out on Ghost's command, you progress to the back room, where Dredgen Yor (clad in Hive-like bone armor) appears from a Hive portal. He tells you that he's seen the truth; the Darkness holds the key to humanity's survival. You don't trust him (obviously), and Ghost remarks that a few bullets should shut him up. The fight begins! Dredgen's fight has 2 phases. In the first, you pursue him around the Cauldron map, damaging him when he stops to shoot you. He wields a more powerful version of Thorn. It does Void damage and causes a highly damaging burn when it hits you. When burned, you will continually take damage until you either die, or step in a Beacon of Light (glowing totems of light scattered throughout the map. Once his health is below 50%, Dredgen will teleport you to the back room, close of the doors, and summon his Hive minions to defeat you. Kill the Hive and defeat Dredgen, who will stay in the back room but constantly move around it. Once he's defeated, the strike is over and you can collect your loot. The artifact Dredgen Yor's Rose has a high drop rate as a final boss reward.
SHIN MALPHUR - A DEADLY GAME: You start the strike on Mars, in the "Bastion" Crucible map. Ghost says he's been tracking Cabal soldiers assaulting an unknown force in this area. After your fire team clears out the Cabal, you venture into one of the bunkers to find he dead bodies of a few Guardians, seemingly killed by the Cabal attackers. When you scan them, Ghost says they have only a faint spark of Light left in them, and the markings on their armor match that of a clan led by a renegade hunter, known as--- he suddenly interrupts himself to tell you he's being hacked, right before he is silenced and a voice speaks to you through your comms. The voice introduces itself as Shin Malphur, saying you may have heard of him. He thanks you for killing the Cabal assaulting his base, meaning he controls Bastion. He then tells you that even though you've done him a favor, he still has to kill you, because leaving survivors would be a sign of weakness. A Goliath tank then spawns on the other side of the map, bearing identical markings to Shin Malphur's dead Hunters. When you blow the tank up, a jumpship flies down and transports Shin Malphur in front of you. He tells you he's impressed that you destroyed his tank, but you won't get so lucky with him. Then the battle begins! Shin will take cover behind various objects throughout the map. You have to find him and damage him, dodging his highly damaging Last Word shots. He wields a more powerful version of the Last Word, which deals Solar damage and stops your shields from recharging for 5 seconds when it hits you. When his health reaches 25%, he boards an Interceptor tank (the kind found in the starting area of the Valus Ta'aurc strike) and begins to shoot missiles at you. His current health bar carries over to the tank. Once you destroy his vehicle, he is thrown from it and has a death animation before dying. Once he's dead, the strike ends and you get your loot! There is a very low chance of a Year 2 Last Word dropping from the final boss.

So.. 1.) Dredgen Yor is dead 2.) Shin malphur killed him 3.) Shin malphur was a good guy wasn't he? Its part of the lore, but it would certainly be interesting to have a more gaurdian-like boss. Definitley be harder than the others.
