Called giving it a shot. Not quitting like a little kid. Playing it through. You ever just went with a terrible idea because your kid or someone you cared about wanted to? Do you have any friends? Lol. Seriously dude nobody wants to hear a sheep.
I think you misunderstand what I'm getting at. I've given lots of things a shot. I've followed through on many endeavors. All of those things were either personal goals or things I had a responsibility to complete. What I'm saying is that Destiny is a game. Somewhere you choose to go to spend free time having fun. If you choose to come spend your time doing something that makes you unhappy... that's on you. You made that choice of your own free will. I'll go one step further and spell it out for you. You said "Time played =|= to time enjoyed." Time played = Unless you make a living and support yourself by playing Destiny (not unheard of) then you made a conscious choice to login and play Destiny. No one made you do that. If you are making choices to spend your free time doing things you don't enjoy... well that's on you, not Bungie. Now I do understand that not every moment played is always enjoyable. If even half of Mal's time spent playing Destiny was enjoyable that's still $.32 / hour doing something fun. I'm guessing but there are probably very few things in the world that offer an opportunity for fun at that price.

 • My fault. I forgot sheep were blind for a moment. Silly of me to try and reason with one.

 •
My fault. I forgot sheep were blind for a moment. Silly of me to try and reason with one.
Your responses haven't really had much more substance than calling me a sheep. Hardly an approach to 'reason with' anyone. My point is entirely missed by your steadfast dislike for the game. As far as me being blind? I make my decisions knowing that I made them. If I choose to play Destiny and am having a bad time, I log off and do something else. I certainly don't continue to play Destiny, something that's angering me then blame someone else for that. If that's your definition of being blind... then by your definition, yes I'm blind. In the end it's pretty clear that you don't like the game, you support Mal's point of view and there's no changing that. To each their own.

 • Stop with the value = time crap. That doesn't work that way, and it's pissing people off.

 • Why doesn't it work that way? Destiny is a game... a form of entertainment that people do by choice. Again almost no one is obligated to play Destiny, or any other game. That's my point. I'm not disagreeing with other parts of Mal's post... just the value portion. To say you regretted spending so much time in Destiny is valid... but to say that hundreds of hours of time playing a game (that no one forced you to play) at the cost of $100 is bad value? That's what I'm disagreeing with. Generally speaking, going to a movie costs more. Reading newly released hardcover book costs more. Going out with friends to watch a sporting event costs more. Hosting a BBQ at home with family and friends might cost more, depending on how much you supply. : )

 • Tell me real quick, time in Destiny is practically dominated with travel time, and loading screens, and tedious quests that force you to PvP. I prefer to rate value by content. If you play an two hours of, say, a $15 game that maybe has two maps and 3 weapons, with only one playable character, was it worth that $15 when it has nothing in it?

 • If I'm having fun with that $15 game with two maps, three weapons and one playable character then yes, it's absolutely worth it. If I'm not having fun after a couple hours of play, I don't continue to play it and rack up more time in an activity that's not fun. To take that a step further, if that game you described (the $15 one with limited content) was literally 75% loading screens but for some reason I was still having fun with it... then that's where the encouragement comes to keep playing it. As everyone knows, fun is subjective so there's very little discussion that can be had about that other than to say what's fun to one isn't always fun to another. Maybe someone enjoys the sparrow riding (travel) around the world of Destiny. Can we say they're wrong? I don't think I can. I understand that there's many problems with the game. I even admit I'm a fanboy and am willing to give Bungie / Destiny more leeway than others. My point is that the argument that Destiny hasn't provided value to players who have played hundreds of hours is shortsighted. A bad value would be if I bought a PS4, controllers, PS4 subscription and Destiny then only played 10 - 20 hours and decided it wasn't for me. That is a bad value. I would feel genuinely burnt about that.
