The card does not specify a system. It is safe to assume however, that it means our system. My original point stands, it is a coward that always runs, except in this one instance, and even if it wanted to(or planned on it) rasputin gave it no choice. What is interesting is why rasputin didn't finish it off.

Why would Rasputin finish it off? That would negate the whole purpose of wanting to make the Traveler stay. It was prevented from leaving because humanity needs it to survive. The Last City could not exist without the Traveler.
-
That's not actually provable. The ghosts were that travelers "last act". There is no way to know if you shot the traveler out of the sky right now whether the ghosts would disappear. Same goes for when rasputin attacked. I can only assume he sent out ghosts assuming he was done for. Yet no final blow came.

Why is the Last City called the last city? What makes that location different than any other on Earth?

Amanda hollidays story about her mother and the chaperone prove you don't have to be a guardian to survive outside the walls.
-
Survive. Yes. Not live. Birds, plants, trees, these all survive out in the wild. As can we. But do we live? No.
-
It is nowhere near as safe as the City. There is no comparison.
-
The reef still seems to be intact. If we're going by levels they should be in more danger. I'm just saying its not out of the question that the last city, isn't actually the last one.
-
On earth it is.

Because no Traveler = dead humanity

Reading through some of those rasputin cards gave me the impression that Rasputin wasn't interested in salvaging humanity. At least the jumbled hard to understand order relays.
-
No, he is not. Not anymore, at the very least. He has his own agenda. I don't know where this was said, perhaps in one of the new missions, but it was mentioned that he no longer is interested in preserving humanity.
-
I also get the impression that Rasputin doesn't like the guardians at all. Even in the saber strike as we're trying to help him he "threatens us with orbital death from above".
-
I agree. Although that is because we damaged part of his hardware. Its a bit understandable, but we are trying to help him. And he wasn't being the most cooperative about it.
-
He pretty much had two choices during the Collapse: fight back, die, and let humanity fall with him; or hide, survive, and save a fraction of us.

On a different note, i also believe the nine are the lost warminds, including rasputin. Thoughts?
-
Perhaps one of the Nine is a Warmind, but I do not believe they all are
-
I only say that because the queen seemed to know them, and shes far enough out to have made contact if the all retreated to the edge of the solar system in the oort cloud.
