I don't think anyone who saw the movie would have any comprehension of the plot of Ender's Game. I've read a fair few of the books in the series - I actually came at it from Speaker for the Dead which I found in a charity shop as a teenager. It's a fairly common sci fi theme though.

True, but the execution was a cut Above the rest, at least from my nostalgic recollection.

I found myself cringing too often through the film - I understood why they cut it the way they did, but some of the best parts of the story are missing or glossed over. It's a pretty extreme story, and they didn't quite pull it off (from a fanboy perspective)

Definetly, they barely recognized the most important details of the ending, probably so people didn't expect a sequel

The sequel would be easier to make as there are far less very young characters to deal with. Only the difficulties of things like an AI that only one character can hear, alien hive mind communication, and bizarre alien reproductive systems...

They'll put the Hollywood twist on it I'm sure but if it ever does surface we can only be hopeful.
