82 times, Bungie. 82 freaking times.
As the title reads, I've run the Shield Brothers strike 82 while chasing those damn unique gauntlets and 82 times I've come up NOTHING. What's even more discouraging is that I've read on threads here and other sites that people have run it in excess of 125 times and come up with nothing as well. Whether or not you think they're stylish, I personally like the look of them and therefore want my Titan to sport them. :)
Now, before the masses decided to impart their "wisdom" know that one, this isn't a "screw you, Bungie!" post; I'm honestly just curious as to other peoples success rates, or lack thereof, when farming these items. Two, I KNOW, as you should know and/or learn now while reading, that these unique boss drops ARE NOT tied to the Legendary loot table of Strikes; they're on their own drop percentage so please don't say, "Do strikes for the buff to increase your chances!" because that is false. You should also know, as I recently found out, that you don't have to kill Big Red or Big Blue first/second. Again, I know it's all RNG but still.
Anyhow, rant and rant alike, anyone else out there farming these gauntlets and coming up short? Flayer capes? Darkblade Helm? How many times did it take you to get yours and/or how many times have you run a certain Strike?

115 times and still nothing. Tried running it on my hunter for a change of pace, though. It's at least a little more fun now.
Do people even READ the post before commenting?
Bungie really needs to add a penalty for bailing on a Strike. I lost count of how many times people flaked after getting the fragment.

Three drops. Only kept one If it makes you feel better I main a warlock and have literally every strike drop except the helmet and the omnigul bond :(

Ran it a bunch of times with my titan, didn't get it. Switched to my hunter, got it first try, lol. Pretty much the same for the darkblade helm.

Haven't gotten the gauntlets yet but I got the dark blade helm on my second run. I was pretty happy at that lol.

I had to kill omnigul 100+ times to get that pulse rifle....and of course it finally dropped with a shit roll, so I have to do it again.....

Got them twice on my hunter, plus the darkblade helm. and the flayer cloak on my titan. makes no sense,

I think waiting for it to be the nightfall would be your best bet. My friends and I were all running on our hunters to to get the flayer cloaks, out of 10 or so runs each of us got 2 to drop.

Maybe done that strike 30 times had them drop twice. I was using three of coins both times though if that makes a difference???

It's because Bungie wants you to endlessly grand for no rewards so they can say they have lots of players

It apears that the strike specific item drops on HUGELY increased rates during the nightfall. I got the Threads Upon Stars 2 out of 3 runs during this weeks Psions and other ppl confirm the same results. What Iam trying to say is the the higher the difficulty of the strike is, the higher the chances for the drop is and it goes like this: [b]From lowest chance to highest[/b] lvl 16 strike from map > legacy strike > Vanguard strike > Heroic strike > special strikes for quests ( SABER for Sleeper Simulant, Shield Bros for Chapperone, Sunless Cell for the exotic sword) > and last is the Nightfall

I have gotten the helmet and fusion from the dark blade, got the titan mark from the vex hydra strike, and the helmet from saber. I got all of these with a hunter. I haven't gotten one hunter item. 2 titan and 1 warlock. My suggestion, if you want an armor piece from a strike, do it with a class that [b]isn't[/b] the class for that particular item.

I got them one of the first times I ran it on my warlock. They're not worth it in my opinion.

Pfft I can't get dark blade helmet or those gauntlets. Flayed cloak? Here's thirty! Taniks cloak? Here's 10! Omnigul pulse rifle? Here you go! First run even! What's worse is I rarely play my hunter... Yet he's got all this shit and my Titan is left wanting. -blam!- RNG.

I've dismantled a lot of these items cause I didn't know they were special. Just looked like low level defense/attack junk to me

I got them on the first or second time I ran it. Didn't even know I got them until someone asked me how I got them and told me want they were. I'll equip them on my Titan if u want to look. I don't use them

Run the Chaperone quest...it's more effective.

Just wait until it is the nightfall again and everyone will have them.
