82 times, Bungie. 82 freaking times.
As the title reads, I've run the Shield Brothers strike 82 while chasing those damn unique gauntlets and 82 times I've come up NOTHING. What's even more discouraging is that I've read on threads here and other sites that people have run it in excess of 125 times and come up with nothing as well. Whether or not you think they're stylish, I personally like the look of them and therefore want my Titan to sport them. :)
Now, before the masses decided to impart their "wisdom" know that one, this isn't a "screw you, Bungie!" post; I'm honestly just curious as to other peoples success rates, or lack thereof, when farming these items. Two, I KNOW, as you should know and/or learn now while reading, that these unique boss drops ARE NOT tied to the Legendary loot table of Strikes; they're on their own drop percentage so please don't say, "Do strikes for the buff to increase your chances!" because that is false. You should also know, as I recently found out, that you don't have to kill Big Red or Big Blue first/second. Again, I know it's all RNG but still.
Anyhow, rant and rant alike, anyone else out there farming these gauntlets and coming up short? Flayer capes? Darkblade Helm? How many times did it take you to get yours and/or how many times have you run a certain Strike?

115 times and still nothing. Tried running it on my hunter for a change of pace, though. It's at least a little more fun now.
Do people even READ the post before commenting?
Bungie really needs to add a penalty for bailing on a Strike. I lost count of how many times people flaked after getting the fragment.

U talking about the titan gauntlets? I got them and I'm meh about it. U want a tip quit chasing things and just enjoy the game

Honestly I have to say don't waste your time just farming them, wait until it's the Nightfall then grind for them. Strike loot drops SO MUCH MORE OFTEN in the Nightfall. I set out to grind for the Arc Flayer Mantle last night, decided to just solo it a couple times since my buddy got 2 of the mantles out of our 3 runs and I got 2 Treads Upon Stars in the same 3 runs. First try, got the Arc Mantle. I've gotten the Darkblade Helm, Baron's Ambition, those gauntlets, a lot of that Strike loot just from Nightfalls. Trust me just wait until then. I'm anxiously awaiting the next time the Saber Strike is up, I REALLY want that Warlock helmet...

Had over 85 attempts on Sunless cell for Darkblade helm. Still nothing. Decided to run one strike before bed last night and it dropped me in right before the two brothers. Wouldn't you know those gauntlets dropped. Not what I wanted... But I guess RNGesus decides what I can have and when I can have it.

Got them really early on in TTK and I either infused or made marks out of them. Haven't seen them again:(

I think it's predetermined if your going to get them. Cause every other time i do the saber strike i get the warlock helm. Like i have gotten at least 12 of them.

I don't understand grinding for specific strike boss gear. Wouldn't it be more enjoyable to just use a Three of Coins, play the Heroic Strike playlist and hope for the best?

I got them on my warlock on my second heroic strike but it can be normal

Maybe try and wait until the brothers are the nightfall. There's a higher drop chance of it. I had the same problem with the flayed cloak, then I got it the first nightfall I ran.

Edited by CannyJack: 10/23/2015 2:27:57 PMIt seems like the Grimoire still isn't counting completions that are part of a strike playlist, so I'm not sure how many times I've done the strikes (case in point: I have the Arc Flayer cape, but I don't have the Dust Palace grimoire card...) I got the Darkblade helm from the Exotic Sword version of the strike a couple days ago; I'd done sunless cell at least 9 times prior to that. I got the Arc flayer cape during a Heroic Dust Palace strike; I've probably only done the dust palace maybe 5 times total. I have none of the other strike-specific items. Edit: wait, I have the Burnt Marshmallow shader from wherever the hell that comes from.
