82 times, Bungie. 82 freaking times.
As the title reads, I've run the Shield Brothers strike 82 while chasing those damn unique gauntlets and 82 times I've come up NOTHING. What's even more discouraging is that I've read on threads here and other sites that people have run it in excess of 125 times and come up with nothing as well. Whether or not you think they're stylish, I personally like the look of them and therefore want my Titan to sport them. :)
Now, before the masses decided to impart their "wisdom" know that one, this isn't a "screw you, Bungie!" post; I'm honestly just curious as to other peoples success rates, or lack thereof, when farming these items. Two, I KNOW, as you should know and/or learn now while reading, that these unique boss drops ARE NOT tied to the Legendary loot table of Strikes; they're on their own drop percentage so please don't say, "Do strikes for the buff to increase your chances!" because that is false. You should also know, as I recently found out, that you don't have to kill Big Red or Big Blue first/second. Again, I know it's all RNG but still.
Anyhow, rant and rant alike, anyone else out there farming these gauntlets and coming up short? Flayer capes? Darkblade Helm? How many times did it take you to get yours and/or how many times have you run a certain Strike?

115 times and still nothing. Tried running it on my hunter for a change of pace, though. It's at least a little more fun now.
Do people even READ the post before commenting?
Bungie really needs to add a penalty for bailing on a Strike. I lost count of how many times people flaked after getting the fragment.

Edited by CannyJack: 10/23/2015 2:27:57 PMIt seems like the Grimoire still isn't counting completions that are part of a strike playlist, so I'm not sure how many times I've done the strikes (case in point: I have the Arc Flayer cape, but I don't have the Dust Palace grimoire card...) I got the Darkblade helm from the Exotic Sword version of the strike a couple days ago; I'd done sunless cell at least 9 times prior to that. I got the Arc flayer cape during a Heroic Dust Palace strike; I've probably only done the dust palace maybe 5 times total. I have none of the other strike-specific items. Edit: wait, I have the Burnt Marshmallow shader from wherever the hell that comes from.

Haven't tried for gauntlets but o did get the dark blade helm for my Titan on my warlock lol so I'm not sure of the percentage and it is definitely RNG

1 ReplyI got mine in less than 20 runs. I really wish they would come with a unique perk or something. Oh well. At least they look cool. I'm still trying to get the freaking Imago Loop. My buddy got his first one the very first day of TTK and it dropped with outlaw and firefly. He has gotten 4 more to drop for him (with different perks) but I have yet to have a single one drop for me this whole time. And just to add to my frustration, I have been grinding crucible for weeks now trying to get the Eyasluna but with no luck. That same friend (who only plays pvp when it's the daily) joined me for a daily skirmish and he got one. Some guys have all the luck, and others just get shafted by RNG.

Lol got them like my 7th time. My Titan is still a 34 too. Only character I haven't leveled. Got them on my hunter.

Got the dark blade helm and fusion rifle once each in ~15 runs of the sunless cell Zero flayer mantles in ~25 runs 1 Tread upon Stars in ~50 runs of the strikes it drops in 0 baron's ambition and 0 devouring maw in ~20 SABER strikes 0 cloak of taniks and 2 Does not Bow in ~20 runs of the Taniks strike 0 Imago Loop in ~30 runs of applicable strikes 1 Mark of Undying Mind out of ~15 strikes 0 Theosyion Vibrissae in ~15 Echo Chamber strikes 0 shaders and 1 emblem in ~150 strikes

Got a pair the first time I ran and another pair probably 2 weeks later. I ended up dismantling them/Infusing them. They are decent though.

I've had two of the Maulers since TTK began. Couldn't tell you how many I've run unless there's a stat somewhere. But I probably run 10-20 strikes a week. More in the first few weeks.

If you don't expect it, you will end up happy. Something you may not want to hear, I know, but just an advice: Forget about them, do other activities, one day they might drop for you without expecting it and you'll be happy. If you keep grinding one strike for that one specific reward, you will end up upset and disappointed each time you finish the strike. I got machine gun from Steroid-Shank, Auto Rifle from Taniks the Scared (yes, scared, fleeing coward) and Flayer Cloak from..flayer. Didn't farm any of these and was well surprised and happy when they dropped. Everybody loves RNG!

Couldn't be Pulse Rifle, or Scout Rifle, or Auto Rifle, ooooh no. F#cking Hand Cannon reload. It would be cool if we could use glass needles on legendary gear. The search continues. Ran all the strikes over 150+ times and haven't gotten a single strike exclusive weapon.

Must have killed omnigol over two hundred times and only had the pulse drop 3 times twice with ok perks. Super rare drop rate. Keep grinding
