82 times, Bungie. 82 freaking times.
As the title reads, I've run the Shield Brothers strike 82 while chasing those damn unique gauntlets and 82 times I've come up NOTHING. What's even more discouraging is that I've read on threads here and other sites that people have run it in excess of 125 times and come up with nothing as well. Whether or not you think they're stylish, I personally like the look of them and therefore want my Titan to sport them. :)
Now, before the masses decided to impart their "wisdom" know that one, this isn't a "screw you, Bungie!" post; I'm honestly just curious as to other peoples success rates, or lack thereof, when farming these items. Two, I KNOW, as you should know and/or learn now while reading, that these unique boss drops ARE NOT tied to the Legendary loot table of Strikes; they're on their own drop percentage so please don't say, "Do strikes for the buff to increase your chances!" because that is false. You should also know, as I recently found out, that you don't have to kill Big Red or Big Blue first/second. Again, I know it's all RNG but still.
Anyhow, rant and rant alike, anyone else out there farming these gauntlets and coming up short? Flayer capes? Darkblade Helm? How many times did it take you to get yours and/or how many times have you run a certain Strike?

115 times and still nothing. Tried running it on my hunter for a change of pace, though. It's at least a little more fun now.
Do people even READ the post before commenting?
Bungie really needs to add a penalty for bailing on a Strike. I lost count of how many times people flaked after getting the fragment.

Must have killed omnigol over two hundred times and only had the pulse drop 3 times twice with ok perks. Super rare drop rate. Keep grinding

What a waste of time . Just play the game. 80 of the same strike for gauntlets? Props to the dedication but man , are they really worth it ? Just like those ugly flayer cloaks . You guys make the grind even worse .

I have them and they look bad ass. I feel your pain because I want that dark blade helm and everybody in my fire team seems to get them over and over but for me they just don't drop

Nightfalls seem to drop them much easier. The first time I ever did Darkblade as the Nightfall I got the helmet. Also, seems a LOT of people who did the Nightfall this week got the mantle. Everyone in my Fireteam got the Arc Flayer mantle this week (and mine was at 300!)

Got the arms my second time running the brothers. On my hunter. Deleted them not knowing what they were....

I grieved when I saw someone get the Mark of the Undying mind in my fireteam, he was a hunter. I was a titan. He grieved too. So tragic. As well I've gotten 2 devouring maws and I'm not even a warlock.

1 ReplyI really wanted the solar flayer mantle but my buddy already had it. So we killed the dumb void guy last on our 5th time running the strike and I got a purple mantle. Not sure how I feel about it. At least that Nebula Glow shader kinda goes with it.

3 RepliesI've gotten them 3 times over 33 runs. I wasn't trying to farm it either. Sucks you can't get them. In year one I felt there was more to the loot table RNG than just the percentage it could drop then s roll. I felt there were loot tables based on player being allocated to a group which made more sense when someone like me got 9 NLB and 6 gallys. While a friend got 12 hard lights and 8 thunderblords. Now in year two it seems it's still occurring. I've already gotten 7 hawk moons while one "unlucky" player got 18 hereafter and another poor bastard got 24 invectives. Not sure if you have done this but some people swear that running different characters can help. I know for me the three I've gotten were not on my Titan. Good luck!

It may be a long shot, but have you tried running them on another character? I got the arms and the Darkblade helm on my Hunter.

This post is also my story. Eventually I gave up after my friend got them twice in front of me out of 5 tries. I personnally can't recall how many times I ran the strike (about 50 times)

I've been running tons of strikes and have yet to see any drops

I got lucky AF that they dropped for my Titan and I wasn't even trying to get them. Good luck. And I think I got them on heroic

try deleting your titan. i deleted my titan to make a second hunter for ttk, so i can rank my main up to max level faster and now all i get are titan drops undying strike bond, darkblade helm, and maulers, not a single strike exclusive for either my warlock or hunters

Wanna worth your time ive run the nightfall 10 times last night and we got either the cloak from a specific last target kill or the gun treads upon stars everytime i got all three cloaks just last night running nightfall over and over .. Run nightfall to get the cloak you want just kill the guy with cloak you want last ..

Wasn't even trying just was doing some strikes, came upon shield brothers for like the 5th time since the dlc came out and I got them lol I don't even have a Titan.
