As the title reads, I've run the Shield Brothers strike 82 while chasing those damn unique gauntlets and 82 times I've come up NOTHING. What's even more discouraging is that I've read on threads here and other sites that people have run it in excess of 125 times and come up with nothing as well. Whether or not you think they're stylish, I personally like the look of them and therefore want my Titan to sport them. :)
Now, before the masses decided to impart their "wisdom" know that one, this isn't a "screw you, Bungie!" post; I'm honestly just curious as to other peoples success rates, or lack thereof, when farming these items. Two, I KNOW, as you should know and/or learn now while reading, that these unique boss drops ARE NOT tied to the Legendary loot table of Strikes; they're on their own drop percentage so please don't say, "Do strikes for the buff to increase your chances!" because that is false. You should also know, as I recently found out, that you don't have to kill Big Red or Big Blue first/second. Again, I know it's all RNG but still.
Anyhow, rant and rant alike, anyone else out there farming these gauntlets and coming up short? Flayer capes? Darkblade Helm? How many times did it take you to get yours and/or how many times have you run a certain Strike?
*UPDATE #1*
115 times and still nothing. Tried running it on my hunter for a change of pace, though. It's at least a little more fun now.
Do people even READ the post before commenting?
Bungie really needs to add a penalty for bailing on a Strike. I lost count of how many times people flaked after getting the fragment.
-
Got one pair (lucky as hell) now I'm chasing for the darkblade helm. But no luck there, as I've ran it over 20 times across all characters, yet, nothing. I feel the pain..
-
Just curious, how do you know how many times you've done it ? Is it logged somewhere or are you counting (or is it just that it feels like its is 82 times ?)
-
Over 100 Sunless Cell runs and still don't have the Darkblade Helm.
-
I have almost every strike weapon/armor and I haven't tried to get a single one except grasp of malok. That's the only one I farmed for and we had to do the omnigul spam for about 6+ hours total. Do you know how many kills that is? Too damn many. Stop looking and it will come to you
-
I got those on my second run of the shield brothers. Now the Taniks and Flayer cloaks?? Not a damn one.
-
Don't feel bad man the damn dark blade helm just simply refuses to drop for me
-
Edited by Liquid__Lion: 10/23/2015 12:43:47 PMDropped twice for me already and I don't even want them Need proof check my Weak ass titan
-
How is this Bungies fault? Why are people grinding for strike gear? I understand wanting a flayer cloak, cuz it looks nice, but darkblade helm and dem bond bro gauntlets? Who cares?
-
I got those and the solar flayer cloak. Nothing else though. Probably 8 runs for the gauntlets and 5-6 for the cloak

-
I infused mine into the raid gauntlets, perks on mine were useless tho discipline and strength ewww
-
But then you can't use the ruin wings...
-
Just forget them
-
*says it's not a screw you bungie post* *rants about drop rate*
82 times bungie, 82 freaking times.
*covers up rant/shitpost with "I'm just asking others if they got"*
-
Why would you replay something 82 times like that?
-
I got the void cloak from falters on my 3rd nightfall, I was so happy I've been trying for one of them for forever and got the one I wanted most
-
310 on my Titan
-
Got mine on the 5th run
-
Edited by Alechrome: 10/23/2015 12:41:11 PMThe only one I've tried to get was the devouring maw. I eventually did. Without trying, I also got: 2 Taniks Cloaks 2 Solar Flayer Mantles 4 Treads Upon Stars Another Devouring Maw 1 Baron's Ambition
-
I've killed omnigul like 200 times and haven't got grasp of malok, just two freakin bonds
-
I got them on my Titan
-
I grinded dust palace for a good while to get the void cloak almost no luck so I figured lemme just have fun run a few strikes back to back for shield brothers have me the gauntlets my friends were pissed at me cause I main a hunter and I'm hardly on my titan but then dust palace came along I did it killed the void one last and bam I got two strike specific drops in two back to back strikes
-
Can't get the stupid treads upon stars
-
I got then yesterday. They seem decent, but they were 286 and my Exotic ones I am wearing are 306. They will not be with for a while until I can upgrade them.
-
Still trying flayers. I' have no clue how many times I've tried.
-
I don't know how many times I've run it (probably far less than 82), but I've gotten the gauntlets twice. Last night I got them on my warlock. It's the damn flayer cloaks that elude me.
