82 times, Bungie. 82 freaking times.
As the title reads, I've run the Shield Brothers strike 82 while chasing those damn unique gauntlets and 82 times I've come up NOTHING. What's even more discouraging is that I've read on threads here and other sites that people have run it in excess of 125 times and come up with nothing as well. Whether or not you think they're stylish, I personally like the look of them and therefore want my Titan to sport them. :)
Now, before the masses decided to impart their "wisdom" know that one, this isn't a "screw you, Bungie!" post; I'm honestly just curious as to other peoples success rates, or lack thereof, when farming these items. Two, I KNOW, as you should know and/or learn now while reading, that these unique boss drops ARE NOT tied to the Legendary loot table of Strikes; they're on their own drop percentage so please don't say, "Do strikes for the buff to increase your chances!" because that is false. You should also know, as I recently found out, that you don't have to kill Big Red or Big Blue first/second. Again, I know it's all RNG but still.
Anyhow, rant and rant alike, anyone else out there farming these gauntlets and coming up short? Flayer capes? Darkblade Helm? How many times did it take you to get yours and/or how many times have you run a certain Strike?

115 times and still nothing. Tried running it on my hunter for a change of pace, though. It's at least a little more fun now.
Do people even READ the post before commenting?
Bungie really needs to add a penalty for bailing on a Strike. I lost count of how many times people flaked after getting the fragment.

I can't Taniks cloak for love, money or praising satan. But those Shield Brothers gauntlets have dropped for me twice. On my warlock and hunter.

I've gotten the Dark Blade helm twice now. Haven't gotten any other strike specific items, but I don't run strikes that often. Too repetitive.

I got my arc Flayer cloak from the Nightfall this week, and so did a lot of other people. Nightfall seems to have a way better chance at dropping the strike loot. If it's a Flayer cloak you're after farm the Nightfall this weekend!

I rarely get things for the class I'm using. Often I get drops for another class I have but never use. (I have the guantlets for titan from sb and dark blade helm.)

I've gotten 3 of those stupid things on my warlock. Think I only have around 20 completions. Also got the Titan helmet from darkblade and mark from undying mind. All on my warlock.

4 RepliesStop grinding until brothers is the nightfall. That seems to increase strike specific drop rate. Also does anyone know if it matters which brother you kill last? It matters for the mantles so the same would stand to reason.

2 RepliesSorry to hear them I got the on the first run on my warlock. I didn't even want them. What I want is the warlock helmet from saber strike and I can't get it nor will I try purposely to get it. I actually got 2 pairs I would give you 1 if I could because I don't want discipline strength gear. I want intellect discipline for pvp.

broh..... i only got the warlock helmet from shader ONCE IN ALL THIS TIME!!!! ONCE!!!.... i run 3 titans unlucky.... only thing i get are the weapons tough...

I would like to say that i play my warlock constantly. Only hop on my hunter for the raid of course. I got all 3 flayer cloaks in 2 runs impossible i know. I thought also! The flayers cloak is most looked upon for hunters of course but that class gets it the least my words have been spoken bungie problems and drops need ro be fixed also the three of coins drop rate why make it stackable if it dont matter so confused.

Just wait for it to be the nightfall, then grind for it (increased drop chance on a Nightfall now)

2 RepliesI think that doing it on Heroic difficulty gives a better chance for strike-specific gear. Just by running heroic strikes I've gotten Taniks Cloak, Darkblade Helm, Tread Upon Stars, and the fusion rifle from the Darkblade as well. And I don't run very many heroic strikes.
