82 times, Bungie. 82 freaking times.
As the title reads, I've run the Shield Brothers strike 82 while chasing those damn unique gauntlets and 82 times I've come up NOTHING. What's even more discouraging is that I've read on threads here and other sites that people have run it in excess of 125 times and come up with nothing as well. Whether or not you think they're stylish, I personally like the look of them and therefore want my Titan to sport them. :)
Now, before the masses decided to impart their "wisdom" know that one, this isn't a "screw you, Bungie!" post; I'm honestly just curious as to other peoples success rates, or lack thereof, when farming these items. Two, I KNOW, as you should know and/or learn now while reading, that these unique boss drops ARE NOT tied to the Legendary loot table of Strikes; they're on their own drop percentage so please don't say, "Do strikes for the buff to increase your chances!" because that is false. You should also know, as I recently found out, that you don't have to kill Big Red or Big Blue first/second. Again, I know it's all RNG but still.
Anyhow, rant and rant alike, anyone else out there farming these gauntlets and coming up short? Flayer capes? Darkblade Helm? How many times did it take you to get yours and/or how many times have you run a certain Strike?

115 times and still nothing. Tried running it on my hunter for a change of pace, though. It's at least a little more fun now.
Do people even READ the post before commenting?
Bungie really needs to add a penalty for bailing on a Strike. I lost count of how many times people flaked after getting the fragment.

I legit got them on my second run of the strike. Plan on infusing them into my gauntlet as they dropped at 296 :D

Probably took 8-10 strikes. Wasn't actively striking for it but got it today. Just ran heroic strikes.

Run Heroics i get the most strike specific gear from that playlist.

Don't try to get them, and RNG will simply hand it to you when your aren't expecting it.

Literally got them the very first time I did the Shield Brothers strike while using my Hunter. I just thought they were just a neat looking legendary gauntlet for my Titan until my friend who runs mainly a Titan told me what they were. ...he still hasn't got them either...

I've gotten the maulers twice. They weren't the highest level but the look is nice.

I'd say wait until it's a nightfall. Best chance there. Or run the Vanguard Playlist.

I got darkblade's spite and helm, treads upon stars and void and solar mantle all in the same week, though it did take a month before any strike loot dropped lol

I got mine the first week of TTK.

I have mine, and I wasn't even trying to get it, I was just doing strikes for infuse material. I don't see what's so special about them.

My mate was talking about them to me whilst we were doing the shield brother strike asking if I got them yet. Just as I answered no they dropped lol

2 RepliesI feel your pain, i run hunter and have been trying forever to get the flayer mantle, not a single one has dropped, however every single other strike exclusive has dropped multiple times! The gauntlets you're after have dropped at least twice for me, as have the exclusive titan mark, and a bunch of warlock stuff and weapons. Its almost as if you have less a chance to get the stuff for the class you are running -_-

I got them. Your problem is that you are grinding to get them. I have never done that, because it only leads to disappointment like you have seen.

So far I've gotten every strike specific loot on heroic strikes except a flayer cloak and darkblade helmet. Only duplicate I ever got was treads upon stars but I've probably grinded about 100 strikes

I think I got them on my 7 to 10 try.

I honestly got the gauntlets on my very first completion of this strike. I didn't even know they were exclusive to the strike at the time. Thankfully I kept them (unlike the Taniks cloak which I stupidly dismantled). Had the following strike exclusive gear so far: 1) Mau'als Maulers 2) Darkblade Helm 3) Cloak of Taniks 4) Treads Upon Stars 5) Solar Flayer Mantle 6) Arc Flayer Mantle 7) Darkblade's Spite Got the last two from the only two strikes I did today (both heroics) and numbers 4 and 5 from the 3 nightfalls I ran on Tuesday.

I got them running my warlock. 299 drop too. I've run omnigul 100+ times trying to get the bond, just know it'll drop without much work if you're really not trying to get it.

Actually I've had better luck getting strike specific gear with a diffrent class then it's meant for everytime
