Maya and Chioma worked with Dr Shim and others at Ishtar, investigating Vex technology. They were some of the first to explore the Vex network and communicate directly with live Vex. After marrying, Maya left her wife at the Hyperion facility to help develop what later became the War Cult's future viewing machine at a facility in Lhasa, Tibet. Maya is the most likely candidate for the true identity of the Exo Stranger, (followed closely by Ana Bray.) She's also Cayde's pre-collapse crush. He worked as her security detail at Lhasa after being turned into an Exo.
