Element primarys were to powerful. I'm glad they are gone. I can now use any primary in a Nightfall without feeling like "This is doing more damage." Just adapt, it isn't hard. Have a special as one element, your heavy as another, and your subclass to fill the final element. Bam, problem solved.

Too powerful? How so? Sure they would drop the corresponding elements shield quickly but other than that they did kinetic damage sans a burn on a strike. In PvP they might actually be less powerful. Why? Elemental armor. I wear armor that reduces solar damage, you shoot me with the VoC. I win.
-
Those elemental armours literally do nothing in PvP, you know that right?
-
Never really put them through a test but if we're talking about how they do against supers, heavy, shotguns, and snipers I'd agree with you. Then again, nobody is meant to survive those very often. Primary weapons are far less powerful so even a slight boost would be the make or break in a close battle.
-
But you're still going to choose the guns with the highest attack value do where's the variety in that?
-
If you truly favor a gun then you wouldn't mind losing a few damage in order to further your ability to play with it by infusion. I had to infuse 3 300+ weapons to make my hung jury 310 but I did because I like it. Screw a few light if it affects your play. Is prefer a 307 with his/her favored guns over a 308 that is uncomfortable with the weapons he is using because he wants to be 308
-
Infusion? Ring a bell? Buy engrams from Xur, infuse those 310 exotics into what ever you want? That easy?
-
What good are 310 exotics now that the level cap is 320¿
-
Not just about infusion. You (and everyone else) will just find the primary with the best stats and stick with that. It won't lead to any more variety at all.
-
Except no one gun has shone out as "Gally 2.0" yet. So yea.

Edited by radabe8686: 10/24/2015 3:26:52 AMWe're talking specifically about elemental primaries. Removing elements won't lead to more variety in primaries because like I said, everyone will find the best primary and stick with it.
-
Yes, and what I was saying was no gun period is good enough to use over another. As it sits right now, PvE weapons are damn near perfectly balanced. All the OP things (Malice, Spindle, the exotic swords) have a good balance and are EXOTICS. As in only one can be equiped at a time.
-
Again, you're missing my point. For example, everyone recently has jumped on the Hung Jury bandwagon. It's got good stats and the vendor perks are great. People will buy this and use it everywhere. Removing elemental primaries won't have resulted in more variety, just a different permanent weapon.
-
And again you miss my point. The Hung Jury is good, but isn't better than anything else in the game. Everything is alteast a Hung Jury. I personally use Red Death in most PvE content. My friend uses a Down and Out handcannon. My other friend uses an Answering Chord autorifle. We each have prefernces, it's human nature.
-
Have you heard of infusion?
-
It's a great thing. People never took off their primaries in y1. Now we get diversity in what we should use
-
Zhalo super cell... Arc damage primary yr 2
-
How many guns do you use in the environment on a regular basis currently?
-
I'm saying to bring them back in a less dominant way. I can't force you all to read the post but if you're gonna throw your opinion out there on the subject then you probably should have read it
-
I did read the post. Bungie would never make an elemental shield stronger to the wrong element while not affecting kinetic. You know why? Specials and heavys can't drop as kinetic. At that point people would be carrying 3+ extra guns around for no reason. #Noelementalprimarys
