Of Heroes Fallen
Cyprus Cruiser: Storage Vault
Still, Eric marveled at how easily he had won their trust. After a brief skirmish necessary for him to survive, they had evidently trusted him enough to allow him aboard the ship. Though this team had perhaps derived from the Axion team of old, they certainly weren't of the same caliber... But nobody needed to know that. After all, folks need heroes.
It was simplicity itself to sneak undetected into the storage vault, where relics from the past were held. Weapons, armor, trophies... And perhaps the information he needed, would be located there. Eric barely understood his obsession with the creature he had fought, but he knew enough to realize that it had become personal the moment he stepped foot on that planet.
The Vault was dimly lit, probably from over a decade of entropy, and it was filled to the brim with rows of trophies: weapons, armor, specimens (even a human head in a glass jar, labeled Hidego), but no data files. Well, it had appeared so, until he accidentally knocked a glass fragment over. What had been inscribed was cracked beyond legibility, but among the shards of broken glass lay a tiny chrome chip. Upon its ejection from the container, the chip immediately projected a holographic image of two beings, one male, and one female, and that was when he realized somebody was behind him.
Just a question Well, sorta All of our advanced tech, Scouters, Blueprints on Bacta-Tanks, stuff like that, is hidden with the Axion Cruiser Is this stuff that they found on the Exalin Base, stuff Ginger left behind?
-
Yea, and this is no exception.
-
Aight
-
Well, relics from Exalin and Thorisis are hidden here, alongside items that the surviving members hid before they left the team. Do you remember how in the first arc, Ginger fragmented his conscience into the War Room to advise the team? Well... What the hell do you think that chip is?
-
No I was just saying, I was confused as to why the stuff was in the Cyprus, when it's a new ship. Wait. Are you telling me Ginger took everyone's stuff, and just put it in the Exalin Base? Even Hidego?
-
Edited by Spyglass: 10/25/2015 3:25:47 PM
No, not everyone's stuff. Just stuff that wasn't vital for anything. Like I said, stolen weapons and trophies, no files or Imperial tech whatsoever. Someone placed Hidego there, but it was just a reference on my part. The chip was nothing special, it just houses a piece of his mind. He placed himself there in case something ever happened to him... And thanks to Elënt, he now has partial control over the base.
-
I really hope it is not that insane version of him. Or the asshole version
-
Wait... There's a version of him that isn't an asshole?
Jupiter had been passing by, her conflicting emotions for Dean were getting to her The man was some kind of hybrid de!on cultist, that was where she had to draw the line She sniffs slightly, only to hear the loud crack, as she hesitantly draws her pistol, and steps into the room The click of the gun being primed is heard, and the infamous words "Freeze!"
-
As soon as he heard the gun click he began to digistruct the Gauss Cannon on his arm, but decided against it when he realized that at such close ranges, he wouldn't have time to pull it off. Instead, he raised both of his hands; the real one that was still gloved, and the prosthetic one, whose black alloy covering shimmered in the dull light of the room. The chip lay between his feet, projecting some form of mutating shape. One second it was a cube, the next a dodecahedron, and the next a polygon of infinite sides, and it continues to warp its shape as the two stand there. Realizing that his silence was even more incriminating than anything he could say, he spoke up "I yield."
-
Her footsteps are heard, and the sound of her bending over and the feeling cold steel are felt The next thing he knew, the chip was in her hands now, as she kept the gun trained on him
-
Smirking, he kept his back turned to her, unmoving despite the opportunity he had to hit her while she was bending over. Instead, he took the time to ask her a few questions. "Do you know what power lays dormant in that chip? The sheer, raw power that it contains, the knowledge that you possess at your fingertips at this very second?" He lies of course, but she had no way of knowing.
-
Ëlemt sees the chip and freezes, then mumbles audible for you to hear "Arkiostœl activation technology...."
-
The shapes displayed by the chip begin to regain shape, but still mutate randomly, albeit noticeably slower. Eric hears what you said, but is more preoccupied with Jupiter to take much notice.
-
In a quick smooth motion Ëlent whispers something and balls his hand into a fist, a black small orb of thick water smoke surrounds the chip and starts to float towards Ëlent
-
After the events between me and Jupiter...
As the Vault began to collapse upon itself, Eric made his way towards where Elent ran off with the chip. Weapon raised, he turned the corner and found Elent with the chip. Ironically, he chose the infamous words that had so recently been used on him, "Freeze."
-
Ëlent with the chip stares at the figure and knows now Why do you seek the arkiostœl technology's?,,,,
-
He hesitates, deciding to tell Elënt the truth about the chip, "You hold the fragmented conscience of the warrior named Matthew Hallwinter, a legend of the past. Some part of him still resides in that chip, but he's dormant now. Maybe I can bring him back..."
-
Ëlent shakes his head "This may have been a memory but touched by a darkness... Only I know of the revival- Ëlent stops talking and realizes his mistake
-
Eric's eyes widen as he catches Elënt's mistake. He hefts his Gauss prosthetic threateningly, though he honestly wouldn't shoot unless he had to, "Keep going."
-
Ëlent whispers something and the gun is suddenly darkened and breaks itself down into the individual pieces that once were a full weapon Darkness is within every creature indeed... Separate the memory from the blight within this relic and your ally has a possible chance of being spared eternity of insanity....
-
The gun in question is literally his arm... And his only weapon, essentially. I'd prefer you not destroy it, but if you really want to I'll go along with it.
"Darkness you say? The legends say that Hallwinter disappeared, went insane in some battle and slated an entire army single handedly, and then destroyed the entire planet by forcing the escaping refuge ships back into the planet's surface. He's no friend of mine, nor do I know him, but he was known for his mental progress. I doubt he's insane, or even corrupted." At the word Hallwinter, the shape in the chip freezes as a cube, and turns a shade of ginger. It begins to vibrate unexpectedly, and the cube begins morphing slowly.
-
Ëlent condenses both hands over the thick watery smoke orb surrounding the chip and within a thick ball of blackish ice freezes over the chip. Stasis will not last long... If not an ally why revive a darkness... We must destroy it... Ëlent is about to smash his hands together
-
Edited by Spyglass: 10/25/2015 7:22:41 AMAs he went to do so, time seemed to grind to a halt. Your conscious was still moving at its penal pace, but everything around you, including your own motions, seemed greatly slowed. A broken silhouette of a being appeared from the chip, huddled on his knees. When he spoke, it sounded as if a male and female voice spoke in complete harmony "I am entropy's pinnacle, the shadow of the Light. What will you say, oh bearer mine? How shall you sing my fate?"
-
Ëlent immediately switches from smashing the orb between his hands to absorbing it into his body One of darkness you are to enter my mind, you are entering your end, why do you seek the destruction of life?
