*sigh* the unfortunate thing about the internet is that one has to use hyperbole and an incendiary tone (in short, to "whine") to get a conversation going; it's not ideal, but it's the way of the medium. have anything to offer other than the ad hominem insult?

  • Well, with all due respect, i fully support the changes to elemental primaries. Having the only elemental primaries as exotics helps set them apart and elevates them above the rest. I love the idea that it's not easy to get all three elements equipped on everyone's character, causing players to often work together to counter the different shield types, especially on higher difficulties. Maybe not everyone feels this way, but in year one I was sick of the lack of diverse builds due to the raid primaries. In year two I'm sick of the lack of diversity due to other reasons now present, however id like to think this is a step in the right direction.

  • interesting... I think I see your point. would you be a fan of adding elements to more exotic primaries, or to adding elements to a wider variety of primaries in general (i.e. not just raid weapons)? I can see how that would, perhaps, make it a little too easy to have all three elements available (if I understand your objection correctly) on every character... do you see this as a problem because it discourages meaningful fireteam cooperation, or simply because it makes the game too easy? If the latter, I might just be suffering from a bit of grind burnout, but I think that when I've played the game enough to have pretty good gear I actually like the game better when it's easier (because we have to run everything SO MANY TIMES in order to get what we need). I liked the fact that Ghorn was a nuke, because it felt nice to use and it made the grind a bit more smooth. At any rate, it kind of sucks when someone takes something away from you that you were enjoying (on an affective level, whether or not it was justified), and I have a hard time separating those feelings from my argument. It just doesn't feel good. I'm USED to having elemental primaries, and I enjoyed having them. Now I don't, and it's hard not to feel a bit robbed.
