Mara Sov & Eris Morn

After reading into the grim a bit, as well as some of the other threads listed on these topics, a lot of questions were answered for me. For those who haven't read any of it, or want a brief summarization of this thread and what it's about: The cutscenes in TTK are brief and panned out, but within them, we learn a lot of things. We also don't learn a lot of things, and are given a whole slew of new questions and lore to decipher and speculate on. Some things that we do learn are that the Awoken... or at least, some form of them have been around for a lot longer than we first thought. Also, the Awoken, more specifically Mara and Eris have a past. Not just with each other, but also with Oryx and the Hive. To not take away from anyone else's threads, or make myself look like an idiot, you can read up more on that ^ in other pre-existing threads. So what am I here to talk about? Eris. All things known about her, and all possibilities considered, is she a fitting heir to the Awoken throne, at least, what's left of it? If she does take the throne, can we be certain her dark past won't interfere with her leadership? And her stating she "won't fail." Can we take that to mean she'll do whatever it takes to save the Awoken, even if it means leaving the Traveler and its followers in the dust? That in mind, I'd also like to expand on Mara. She states that a plan was set in motion long ago, and when Eris returned from the pit, they both knew Oryx would come, and how it would end. Their knowledge implies that they know far more than they let on. It also goes to show that while they are willing to help the light, they aren't exactly one with it. Nor would they shed a tear if some of their knowledge went undiscovered. Could just be the lack of competent story telling on Bungie's part as others have said, but I would venture to say that the Awoken had a huge role in the Book of Sorrows, possibly could even be their origins, and if that's the case, makes sense why they'd want to hide that.
