Treasures of the Lost are not cosmetic only

Pay-to-win has come to "Destiny". As part of the Festival of the Lost, players can use silver to purchase Treasures of the Lost. This random package could include items that speed up weapons upgrades and glimmer farming. So, remember when Bungie said silver would only be used for cosmetic items? Well, they aren't. Micro-transactions are a slippery slope. The community needs to keep Bungie from going down that slope. Make your voices hear. Raise a ruckus. Let the Bungie faithful assail your revulsion of micro-transactions and pay-to-win. Let them see your resolve. Until Bungie relents and goes back to making "Destiny" the game it should be, we hold the line. Edit: From Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/3qax5y/destiny_halloween_event_festival_of_the_lost/ These aren't cosmetic items only. They include consumables. Edit: Keep responding. "STFO, "Never go full . . .", "You're an idot". It's all there already. Every reply bumps this post and keeps the pressure on Bungie to avoid going pay-to-win. And yes, I know some Guardians would love it if "Destiny" went pay-to-win and they could just buy a Gjallarhorn 3.0, but that's not the game I bought.

 • I would like to agree with you but being someone who studies game design and goes over data from other game companies the thing is... Micro-transactions are here to stay now that's not to say its good or bad.. because its all about how its implemented. The fact is their is outcry from communities but the big thing you need to look at is those people who outcry are actually the minority but they are the very vocal minority. In my opinion console games should stick with cosmetic only micro-transactions but can venture a bit further out as long as it doesnt become pay 5$ get 20 legendary marks then the people who are generally okay with micro-transactions start to move over to the other side. So far what bungie has done is emotes, masks, and in those mask packages you get little pieces of candy that act like black wax idols and items like it.. At this point its fine because lets be honest those pieces of candy are only useful for 2 weeks not long time and how easy are they to normally get... pretty easy... Im sitting on 160~ Blue polyphages and resupply codes and almost never use them... If it wasn't for turning in black wax idols and ether seeds for better things id have a huge stock pile of those as well. and not only that but you are guaranteed to get those candies if you try to collect all the rare masks without spending a single penny. And its been proven that micro-transaction models that follow this has worked.. it adds a bit more money into the developers pockets to use for better content because lets face it making big AAA games cost millions of dollars and unfortunately alot of people don't quite understand how much money is actually used when making a AAA game. But back to the point right now bungie is doing micro-transactions right because none of the stuff they are selling really helps in any way shape or form (except those candies but again already touched on that).... As long as destiny doesn't do what Pay-Day 2 did and start giving stats to its cosmetic micro-transactions then the model bungie is currently going with is fine and will make the game better in the long run. Just dont hate because its micro-transactions their are many different micro-transaction models and some suit a game more then others and so far bungie is doing fine with the current model that we can see.
