So sick of abusive Raid Teams...

You guys know the ones. The teams that are always elitists, that get pissed off every time you die, the ones who berate you for playing a Warlock, and especially those who implement a strategy completely different than what you're used to and they expect you to be able to get it down first try. Don't tell me I'm the only one that's been there? I play hardcore, don't get me wrong, but when it gets to the point where name-calling and yelling and screaming happens, that's not motivation. That's just downright abuse. Edit: It sucks to know so many people can relate to this bullshit, but good to know there are others out there who are just as sick of it as I am. :)

  • Never happened to me. Main Warlock. Everyone either keeps their cool or just disband wordlessly.

  • If I come into one of these teams I usually leave and wait for my team to get on. Other than that I usually never meet any assholes

    • I learned that the best way to avoid this. Is to find a team who hasn't done the thing you're doing. This means they won't judge or get mad at you for getting killed. Another way to stop this is find a solid fireteam. Whether that's friends and family or nice people off the forums. Or put up with it and become LEGEND

    • I have 3 close friends I raid with and we usually pick up 2 randoms, had some really bad experiences with control freaks, yellers, people who want to do it their way rather than your way and you are stupid because you don't do it their way. Had a real gem last night. I'm a nice guy, I think civility and cohesion are vital to a raid and I don't boot people, i talk through things and I want a chill experience but after last night i'm over it, anyone yells and their kicked. There is no excuse for it. If you are really that upset and feel like it's taking too long or whatever, GTFO.

      • Yesterday, I joined a group on my 305 Titan for a normal oryx. I have completed the raid a few times with multiple groups and know most strats. 20 seconds later after introductions and in the middle of bantering with them ... I am removed from the fire team and party. No warning and no explanation. Know what I did? Joined another group and had fun killing Oryx. Just ignore those players and move on to a fun group.

      • I have never experienced this and im sorry for all the guardians who have had this bad experience... its sad becauae for me part of the game is to help others so they can hopefully help more people and so on. For example when im trying to explain the raid and someone dies or is struggling with something, ill ask them what is killing them and give them constructive criticism in order to help them get better. For example we were running hard oryx and one guy kept dying on the platform and we would wipe and everytime we asked what happened all we heard was silence (even though i knew who was dying all the time). So i said: "look, not pointing fingers but who is dying each time?" He finally spoke up but sounded terrified. I just said okay, whats killing you? It turns out he was struggling with dropping the ogre and then killing his night while looking out for the acolytes eye (which is a lot to look out for at first). So instead of yelling at him or making fun of him, i told him i would take out the acolytes and the knight for him from middle. Sure enough a couple runs later we beat the raid (and he was eventually able to kill his ogre and knight) and he apologized and explained that noone ever helped him and instead just called him useless and booted him. It was sad but made me happy to know that i helped him and hopefully he will have better gaming experiences from now on. Sorry for the long comment, i just felt like sharing because players in this community are so selfish and rude sometimes and it ahouldnt be that way.

        • I had a few like that on my friends list after; added them randomly for PoE. I experienced their true nature after doing raids with them, not towards me specifically but I don't like it when people are jerks to others. I promptly removed them from my friends list and drop quickly any time it happens.

        • Some people just like being douches. There was a guy yelling at me to dps adds on the daughters fight while I was shooting them. Then he told me he killed my vandal for me when I shot at that too. There are people out there who's sole purpose in life is to make any given moment worse for another person.

I usually mess with those people, it's pretty funny lol. Anyways, it's just the way some people think. http://www.simplypsychology.org/personality-a.html this explains exactly the way they think the way they do. Some people were just born to be assholes, I try to avoid them at all costs.

          • After the same person ruins a run for the same reason over and over, in the span of an hour, it usually gets pretty frustrating. I just mute my mic and stop calling things out. Learn and quit bringing us down

            • I only call my friends names during raids, because they know I'm not serious. I don't take that chance with randoms. Gotten some pretty hilarious raid teams back when the vault and crota were still the thing to run.

            • Never been abused on a raid but know what your talking about. 90 percent of the time the person giving the abuse is not much better than the person he is abusing . I always call them on it. Start pointing out there deaths and shortcomings. I can't stand bullys in any form be it at the supermarket work or online I always call them on it. If you come across you just leave don't allow yourself to become a victim to there incompetence. My father when I was young that bullys are people who compensate for their own failures they project their insecuritys on the meek and the quiet. It's why I call them out ounce you realise it's actually them who are the weak 1s they hold no sway on you. Bullying should not be considered a social norm. It should be stamped out wherever encountered

LOL ... We made the RAID when we all started to talk like Paki's ...it took us 5 hours first time... And we made it when we were just having a laugh ! But I understand the frustration that drives people mad... but seriously one wipe first try... that is crazy... We asked people to watch video of the strat we used first ...then we explain details we learned from our experience...then we do it... first time fail.... what went wrong... learn from it... but if then the person fails 3 times in a row...its time to replace... But in full honesty... more then HALF our wipes were due to LAG ! This game SUCKS when it comes to LAG, ogers spawning weird... knights appearing out of nowhere ... platforms disappearing ... so many LAG related bugs... FFS Bungie let us see LATENCY to all players ! Or bring dedicated servers ... but I know you are too cheap for that... so make us pay 5 EURO a moth ! I dont mind... let the no payers stay on this laggy piece of shit..

I don't get mad at people, but I do get tired of teaching. I think the biggest frustration is that people will come in brand new to a group, with no clue of what's to come. If you are new to a raid that has been out for a while, you should look it up and watch some YouTube guides to at least get an idea of what your job will be. Some people will say "ya but I want to experience it with not knowing what's coming next" and I get that, but no one wants to wipe over and over and over, while you figure out how to jump the daughters platforms. Don't rely on randoms to be patient with your ignorance
