I, your target consumer, was just about to give you my money.... but I'm not sliding down that slope with you and I'm done next step you take.

The Festival was a fantastic, fun surprise. The decorations and the soundtrack straight from the "spooky graveyard" record from the halloweens of my childhood made me laugh. The masks are ridiculous, superfluous fun. If this was the kind of thing that the Eververse is funding, I thought, I'm willing to support that. I'm an adult professional with a career that affords me the disposable income to Throw Money At The Screen if the whim takes me, and not think twice. But I'm not giving you a damn cent if it gives me a leg up on a player without the funds. And what is in those treat bags? Grind-skipping candy. It is such a tiny leg up, but it is one. They do the same things as telemetries, or wax idols, or ether seeds, and those drop for everybody so easily. They're not the value of buying those packages. I can't imagine anybody buying silver to get those. But they're a tiny step down that slippery slope you REPEATEDLY PROMISED you weren't headed down. So soon? So gosh darned soon you're sliding toward pay-to-win? Pay-to-skip-the-grind? Nope. Not buying a single sliver of silver. And if you offer another advancement tool for silver, I'm done on principle.

I love how but a few weeks ago DeeJ said something to the effect of the Eververse never being a "Pay-To-Win" deal. Fast forward to Monday, and what do we see? A "Pay-To-Advance" model implemented. Is it Pay-To-Win? Nope - just Pay-To_win's dumb cousin... And I see all the Youtubers wasted no time dropping their twitch donated dollars right into Tess's inventory - nothing like seeing a tower full of mask wearers doing the thriller dance and parading around the fact that they do not give two sh*ts about the direction Bungie is going with this Eververse crap... I said this weeks ago when Bungie first brought Tess back: they were walking a very, very fine line with this microtransaction crap. It looks like, at this rate, we won't have long to see the "Pay-To-Win" model implemented...
