Final edit: This is regarding having a chance of getting no drops from hard mode. A lot of people, including myself, have gotten very frustrated with this to the point where we just don't want to play anymore.

It's not easy with a LFG team and after you spend a while fighting the boss, you get nothing or just normal mode loot. What's the point of doing it on Hard if you won't get loot anyway?
I've seen it all. Vault of Glass normal and hard, Crota's End normal and Hard, along with Prison of Elders. I've been through forever 29 but never complained about the rewards but this time I am as every other encounter gave you something every time.

Don't I just love it when I spend 20 min on a encounter only to get nothing? Last week it was nothing from sisters. This week, it was nothing from Golgoroth and I was the one who had the gaze. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to remove drops completely is a dumbass who deserves a slap to the face.
GIVE US GUARANTEED DROPS ON EVERY ENCOUNTER!
Just to clarify one thing, I'm not asking for straight 320 drops with perfect rolls. I'm just asking for drops. Now, with the variety of things you can get, you won't be done immediately. You get a drop, then it needs to be 320 and it needs desirable rolls.
For those of you saying "It has always been like this", it hasn't. I've been here since week one (Sign of Founders on my Hunter) and I'll tell you why. Before you got shards and / or energies. You could use those to upgrade your initial gear and make it more powerful. You got something out of it if you remembered correctly. Now, since you don't need ascendant materials to upgrade anymore, the equivalent could be seen as weapons or gear. You use high light stuff and upgrade your initial gear and make it more powerful.
If you do a normal raid and complete it, then do a hard raid, or just do a hard raid straight then you have the chance of getting nothing which has 310+ light until Oryx. What was the point of doing the previous encounters then if they don't guarantee you items? And it's not like this is infrequent. I didn't get anything from 3/5 encounters last week and 2/5 encounters this week. How is that fair?
Also, those of you calling me "entitled", I am entitled. I finished the activity therefore I earned the rewards. If you disagree with that then why not just remove loot completely from every activity?

Im fine with the variance as it makes the raid more replayable, but something should drop even if it is a 310 hallowed pieces of gear. Bump to increase helmet drops. have beat 3x almost every week and not a single normal or hard helm on any of my 3 characters. Rocking 311+ with a 295 helm lol

Last night me and my friends tried hard mode for the first time, we kept messing up on the glyphs and it took us like half an hour and only one of us got gear and it was a 300 ghost shell

I keep getting 310 harrowed gear.

I raid with basically the same fire team every week. One guy seems to get amazing 320 loot from EVERY boss. One guy seems to get nothing but shards and 310/300 loot EVERY boss. Me, personally I get drops right in between at 314-319. Worst loot system ever.

Bungie doesn't care. They want us to squirm for the shit. If they increase drop rates they will nerf the drops so 99% of drops are the lowest possible damage or defense for the raid. All normals will be 300 with 1% chance for 302 all hard will be 310 with 1/2% chance of 311

I don't know why everyone is complaining. Just yesterday I solo'd CE and didn't get anything other than Shards.

I've barely gotten anything. I'm really getting tired of nothing on hard mode. I need other stuff but it will only give me boots or nothing. I was the highest light among my friends and as the weeks gone on I've become one of the lowest. I can't get anything. And it's incredibly frustrating.

Signed. Did both hard and normal to only receive 3 rewards total. Sometimes not getting a thing, that includes shards.

Agreed. Definitely shouldn't be possible to get nothing for beating the raid boss. Even atheon gave you something "useable" in the form of ascendant energies/shards. I won't count moldering shards because those things are flawed. It's only happened to me once, but he took my friggin shards and gave me nothing in return

Some people are LL 315+ now on my list and it's really starting to PISS me off that Bungie cannot get their loot system sorted out properly I appreciate the world they've made and the fact we can keep coming back to it, but shit like this makes me want to delete it off my HDD

I'd be happy if they removed moldering shards from boss drops, i must have somewhere in the realm of 50 moldering shards because that is about all I seem to get in my typical kings fall runs. It is beyond annoying to get 2 of something you need 20 of to get any use out of. In my opinion Moldering shards should be limited to chests, and to compensate for the added scarcity of them make purchasing them from eris cheaper.

I feel your pain. Did Warpriest and golgoroth twice, and got nothing. Did oryx twice and got nothing but gloves thanks to those shards. It was just this week that Warpriest and golgoroth actually dropped something besides shards

Just because you don't get something from one boss don't mean you did not get anything from the raid same as all the other raids you might get just radiant energy from death singer nobody bitched then

Only got a ghost and arms that where lower that what I had. But not to worry guys I got a crap load of shards so oryx can take my 20 and give me 2 back as a reward. Yay!

yea a lot of good points here... I do find it shocking how many times multiple members of the fireteam has gotten a big fat nothing on 2 big bosses. ( myself a few times ) I even had a Hard Mode Oryx kill with nothing dropped. I about broke a controller....
