Then surely we need other means to acquire similarly powerful weaponry or armour, it's 1 go a week for a slim chance of getting armour, especially armour with 320 light. VoG and Crota's End was different, it was bearable even if I didn't get what I needed (I didn't get the VoG hunter gloves until Crotas end came out and they were not important) I knew once it did drop, it didn't randomly roll its defence value.
