Etheric light repurpose idea

Make etheric light into a weapon consumable that allows weapons from year one to move into year 2 starting at 179, but only upgradable with etheric light, and etheric light only raises the item by 10light levels, or can "crit" for 20. That or just as an item that brings up any and all items by 10 light until 280, 5 until 200, 2 until 210, and 1 after that. This way it has a purpose and gives us a reason to go back and get it. Also make it so it can drop from the raids or rare weapon engrams with weapon parts. No reason to leave it useless, and then we can bring our year one weapons forward, but at a slower rate, allowing us to work hard to bring our old gear up to date. All items from year one have an etheric light slot, so why not?

  • I like the idea of using Etheric light for something as at present its worthless. However as much I loved my Yr 1 weapons, I do not want them in year two. I like the fact I use different weapons now. I got so bored of only VoC, FB, BH, GHorn etc. Plus Nightfalls would be even easier which is not a good thing. If anything make them harder. Etheric Light though could be used for infusing year 2 weapons. For instance, you get 274 weapon from an engram you wish to keep. If you had an etheric light you could immediately infuse it to 290/300. Any further increases need to be done with weapons as normal.
