I think marriage is just an artificial way of causing drama and having the law instigate itself into people's love lives in order to discourage adultery and such. I see it as totally unneccessary because if people really love each other, they shouldn't have to prove it so massively. And it creates so much drama for people that want to split up for whatever reason - divorce papers, court appearances, property disputes.... But if people really like that idea, whatever.
