To get the actual good 300+ armor and weapons, you have to get more wins on your passage. You have a higher chance of getting these rewards in the after game rewards screen as you get more wins on your passage.
You don't have to be 300+ light, you just have to get more wins on your passage to increase your chances of getting the good rewards.
