Halo 5 is pay to win, though... Edit: Maybe more like pay-and-win. Either way, you pay and you're probably gonna win. Edit 2: It's all logic, guys. If each player on your team spends $9 on Gold Req packs (thereby receiving Rare+ cards) and uses most of them (if not all) in a game of Warzone, then that team will most likely win. True, Arena gamemodes do not follow this since you can't use REQs in those game modes. But in terms of Warzone, if you pay more than the other team, you have a much greater chance of winning.

  • OMG it's not pay to win get over yourself. You don't even have to spend a dime to get those req packs.

I've never spent any money on Halo 5 and I have around 30 snipers, 20 banshees, and 10-15 scorpions along with a lot of other power weapons. Spending money is literally just to make your collecting process go faster for the perma unlocks, but it is still ridiculously easy to get silver/gold packs. I've personally been buying silver packs (with req points, not money obviously), so when I get most of the common-rare unlocks out of the way I can actually get good things out of the gold packs.

  • Incorrect, the matchmaking system places you in games with players that have a similar req loadout to prevent this exact thing from happening.

  • That sounds like total nonsense.

  • You do not have a significantly better chance of winning just because you're spending more. You spend $10, get sniper certification, that doesn't suddenly mean you can snipe. It will help you, but considering how big each team is, it's doubtful one person is going to singlehandidly change a map that way. Also, if I remember correctly, they specifically match players so that both teams have a comparable number of players with lots of cards.

  • It takes a whole 2 games to earn a silver, and 3-4 to earn a gold pack. If you think this game is "pay-to-win" you must such some MAJOR cockles at halo...

Doesn't matter how long it takes to earn something, you can still win by spending money.

Yeah, it actually does. But if you're so dumb to think that a system where things earned that easily is "pay to win" then, there isn't really any chance of convincing you otherwise, because you're just an uneducated idiot. Pay to win refers to Microtransactions being the only way to obtain items, OR the items are unfairly earned through days of gameplay. Maybe if you had to wait hours like Clash of clans to open packs (unless paying) then it would be pay to win. But it's not. You're just a yammering idiot parroting other yammering idiots. This system is neither. You're some shitty, uneducated preteen, that is complaining about something because someone you like on YouTube said they hated it. Like I said, it's only pay to win if you suck cock at halo, otherwise, you have more RP than you know what to do with, meaning, you can buy packs without money. God it's so hilarious when people bitch and moan about things that aren't even problems, solely because their too stupid to understand the situation. Hahahahahahaha Edit: wow, spent more time than I wanted to trying to explaining what pay to win is to a complete and utter window licker, welcome to being muted.

Pay-and-win means you'll win if you pay. It's in the wording. Doesn't say anything about not paying. I'm not here to bitch, complain, and argue my afternoon away. I made a mistake, and I corrected it. You're right about everything else (except the pre-teen comment), but I meant no offense in anything I've said. We're all gamers here. Let's not waste each other's time.

  • I've played halo 5 and it's no where near a pay to win because everything you buy you have to play untill u get a certain level and if u die then that level is reset so unless you are a pro at the game you will not get to rank 6 every game

  • Rank 6 isn't hard to get.. It's the rank 8 stuff that I have issues getting to. My only DMR has a longshot sight and a energy bayonet at Req 8 and I hardly get to use it because I always get it near the end of games.

Nah I bought it at launch. And it is pay and win. Buy req packs, get req cards. You could have a team of players who spend $9 each for 3 gold packs. If they use all their cards (vehicles, weapons, and boosts) then they will most likely win.

  • It takes kills and objectives to build req power to use weapons. The other team has the same options. Gold packs and silver packs give basically the same stuff. Gold, you have a chance at an ultra or legandary, which takes even longer to use in game.

  • You don't have to pay money for the req packs, you can also just earn req points by playing the game and buy req packs with those. So basically you are enjoying the game and not having to pay extra money.

Buy REQ packs. Get gear that gives you an advantage. Pay-to-win might not be the right wording. More like pay-and-win.

  • REQs only apply to warzone, nothing else....play the game before you comment and sound ignorant

  • You still have to unlock the gear from the req packs. I usually am beating the other team before they can even use battle rifles, forget cool stuff from req packs.

  • Or you could save up REQ points. It's not that hard and it doesn't take that long.
