I had an interesting experience in trials the other day that I wanted to share. My friend and I were trying to help a third guy reach the lighthouse. Sadly, we made it, but he did not because he forgot to buy the boon before we started. We tried to help him get the rest of the wins but we eventually encountered a team fully fitted with snipers, red deaths, and ressurection exotics that beat us.
Before that though, during some of the matches, it looked at times like we were going to lose and not reach the lighthouse at all. Our third guy is not that good at PVP, so what ended up happening was I would get killed and start raging, but a couple of times I raged really hard at our third guy when he screwed up his supers. At one point I got killed through a wall by a laggy guy with a sniper, so I got really enraged, but I ended up taking it out on our third guy when he screwed up his golden gun, shouting "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! YOU NEVER POP YOUR GOLDEN GUN COMPLETELY OUT IN THE OPEN WHERE THEY CAN SHOOT YOU!"
Needless to say I shouldn't have done that, and I felt really guilty after. I sent an apology message to him after he had given up on trying to reach the lighthouse. He said not to worry about it, but I still felt bad. I mean, you know you have become far too addicted to a game and developed issues when you rage over losing the chance to get an ugly yellow emblem and some medicore primary weapon.
So, the point of this? Don't be like me, don't rage at your friends in Trials. Don't get mad and shout over your mic in Crucible. Don't wind up being a dick like I was. Not sure I deserve that ugly yellow emblem and the three mediocre primaries I got on my three characters. They sure are not worth the guilt I feel now of being a dick to my friends.
Perhaps it is best if I simply stay away from destiny for a while... Skill and gear means nothing if you can't control yourself and rage at the game and your friends.
