Because then players would grind as much to get new gear. With all new gear required, that means in order to get a high level you have to play a ton and that's the most important thing to bungie.
Because then players would[n't] grind as much to get new gear.
But even that's wrong, haha! Whether I'm infusing a Year 2 weapon to max level, or a Year 1 weapon to max level, I would still have to grind through the exact same steps. if I wanted either weapon at 310, I'd need a 310 item to infuse them with either way! You know? (Actually, if you wanna get down to specifics, it would actually take me more gear to Infuse a 170 weapon up to max level, so, oddly enough, the reality is that Infusing Year 1 gear would take MORE grinding than anything in Year 2. So, there's that.) ;)

 • Good point, but you wouldn't have to get new stuff. So you want the jade rabbit and you have a few guns at 299 or so. Now you need to grind to get the weapon and the infusing weaoons, but I think you might be correct. prolly take more time upgrading yr 1 stuff. especially at these new drop rates.
