That's just stupid, and proves what a bunch of entitled, helicopter-parented, insulated little brats whine about what--if they had any idea what the world looked like outside their parents' basements--is pretty standard business. Want your participation trophy? Want something for free? Stick to tee-ball, where you can take your base anyway after swinging three times...whether or not you connect.
Ultimately, though, we have to blame my generation, since we raised you/your parents, and were only trying to give you the best chance. But we forgot that praise builds ego, not character, and without adversity there's no opportunity for growth.
But back to the point: NO ONE IS BEING ABUSED. We, not Bungie, have all the power in the "relationship." Don't like the color of your armor? Quit. Don't have the money to buy the DLC? Don't. Don't like microtransactions? Don't participate. Fed up with the grind? Walk away.
No consequences. No stigma. No restraining order. No shelters. No character assassination in the courts. No fear walking home at night. No wondering how to make ends meet.
You're like a little kid who gets a little scratch and screams bloody murder: because it's the worst thing you've ever experienced in your overprotected little life, IT MUST BE THE WORST PAIN POSSIBLE!!!1 It's not; it's not even a big deal, as you'll realize later.
Short of invoking Godwin's law, this is one of the stupidest analogies possible. It's not just a matter of scale. It's not even a good analogy, because it misrepresents every facet of the situation.
So, no, it's not a good explanation, and no one who knows the least little bit about abuse of any type would demean the entire subject--and trivialize the countless victims--by comparing it to video game pricing models. When, or if, you ever get a clue about life, you'll realize that it's okay to dislike something without labeling it an atrocity of epic proportions.
