Disagree...but let's just say it is popular and it is a good sniper and its only 21 aim assist, why the need to make yard stare 71 if a sniper can work perfectly well at 21?
Disagree...
Any reason why?
but let's just say it is popular and it is a good sniper and its only 21 aim assist, why the need to make yard stare 56*-71 if a sniper can work perfectly well at 21?
Same could be said for efrideets spear compared to y-09 longbow. One had a higher AA and efrideets had like 18? Omolon having a lower aim assist is more uncommon than 1000 yard stare having a fairly average aim assist. Each gun has independent stats, one guns stats are not dependent on another even if they're in the same archetype

Edited by boff: 11/4/2015 3:06:44 PMI disagree in that I think eirene is not popular because it has low aim assist. If word spread that eirene had super aim assist people would work towards getting it, it's not hard to obtain...the only draw to that gun is that it has litc. I not saying there are no people on here that can not snipe, so low aim assist snipers may suit them like spear, but for the average sniper aim assist may be working to well for them. Spear also had final round...and that what i mainly saw in pvp
If word spread that eirene had super aim assist people would work towards getting it, it's not hard to obtain...the only draw to that gun is that it has litc.
How is it not hard to obtain? It's been available one time from a vendor for a 5 day period? Nobody even knew the perks till the gun wasn't available to buy anymore. The other way is one of 3 gunsmith packages you have a chance of earning once a week that drop foundry guns from all 3 foundries. Come back in a week and there will be plenty of eirenes out and about. And I agree, aim assist does help people. But it alone doesn't make a gun overpowered. Final round / litc do but critical shots are critical shots and require at least a little bit more thumb dexterity

as you say if eirene becomes popular it proves there's no point to putting high aim assist on snippers as they work fine without high aim assist. So surely high aim assist would be overkill. The only reasoning I see for making snipers a bit easier to use with high aim assist is to give them a fighting chance against shotgunners and to make the game as user friendly as possible for those who are not great at sniping.

This is a user friendly game for sure, something anyone can pick up and play. Maybe it'll change if they try and get competitive (which couldn't happen till destiny 2)

Agree with that, it needs a total rework that only a new game could probably deliever. But I think user friendly works well for sales so doubt it will change
