Aim assist has absolutely nothing to do with it. You only see so many of them because literally everyone has one and you can roll the old scopes that everyone is used to. The only other 31+ impact snipers are Stillpiercer, Eirene RR4, and Black Spindle. If you're using anything in Trials with less impact then you're doing it wrong. Honestly I'd say the same for regular crucible if you want to actually be able to snipe anyone out of their super. Stillpiercer isn't as common because it's Hunter only and has a locked scope. Black Spindle takes up an exotic slot and has a locked scope. Eirene was only sold once, so not everyone has one. Also, fyi... 1k-yard stare has 56 AA. Which is lower than commonly used Y1 snipers. With an Ambush scope (which I use) it has 41 AA which is nearly the same as Black Spindle. Also, AA only increases the slowing effect you get when dragging your scope over an enemy. It doesn't increase hitbox sizes or bullet magnetism. Stop making up excuses for playing poorly.
