There is nothing that forces you to partake in the micro-transaction portion of the game. If you do, its your decision entirely. That means choosing to by both micro-transactions and DLC content is a voluntary action, not required to be able to enjoy the content of destiny.... Now if Bungie starts making micro-transactions necessary to be competitive in the content portion of Destiny, then yes, I would agree that they had gone to far.
I played World of Warcraft for nearly 5 years and Blizzard had the exact same business model. You could purchase vanity items through micro-transactions, but you still had to pay for any new DLC that came out (not to mention every single DLC they created was at least $60) and many times was just re-hashed content with newer models/forms to it. Bungie/Activision's model of generating more money is not something new or innovative and has been done, successfully, by many other companies. But like I said, the moment micro-transactions become required in order to be successful in DLC/Destiny playable content, that is when they have over-stepped and that is when they would lose my business....
