I have to disagree. The year two guns are ok, but they're nowhere near as good as the year 1 guns were before the wholesale nerf.
There is no year two gun as good as vision of confluence, fatebringer, icebreaker, or jolder's hammer.
And almost everyone who has one still uses year 1 shotguns in crucible because they're just better than year two guns.
The year two guns are ok, but they're the diet coke of weapons.

I'm mostly approaching this from a PvE perspective, since I think it's much harder to determine worth in PvP (I also hate Destiny's PvP, so I don't play it). I loved Fatebringer, but I find myself just as effective, if not more with the guns I have now. Sure, that's probably partially play style, but there are some pretty damn good weapons out there (albeit almost all exotic).
