So in the new update. It looks like the gunsmith will sell weapon parts and accept glimmer as payment. I'm really happy with this announcement as i was very broke on them. And also im glad they didnt charge silver. I was getting really worried. THANK YOU BUNGIE
-
Why arent you guys just using your glimmer to buy exotic blue prints and dismantling the guns for weapon parts? It cost one exotic shard and when you dismantle you get the shard back. Why di we need to buy parts from the gunsmith?
-
I will have 25,000 glimmer ready the day that he starts selling parts, I will also have about 10k saved in house banners when I run out of glimmer. I will never go broke on WPs again!
-
Why thank these ass hats for fixing a problem the created? We still have to wait when this happens but, I'm agreeing with most it's going to be like 10 parts for 2500 glimmer, which is enough to infuse one weapon or level up two pin wheel perks on your weapon.
-
I'm guessing it's not gonna be as good as we might think...2500 glimmer for 10 weapon parts probably....
-
Whoot, now I can literally buy faction rep :p
-
I deleted so much Wormspore... Hopefully the conversion isn't too useful.
-
Why do they insist on changing the economy???? O wait cause they can't stop creating issues within there own game. I'm glad but Jesus Bungie sometimes you guys are morons
-
I hope it's like 1000 glimmer for one hundred weapon parts
-
Yeah I'm happy too. I'm the kind of player who does hard raid on every character every week and I play a lot. But I only have about 80 weapon parts on each charachter. They made a joke in the update and said" well I'm down to 1600 weapon parts we better fix this". That guy obviously doesnt use the infusion system like we do. I run out all the time cuz I'm trying to bring my favorite weapons to the top with me to 320
-
Let's look at it this way, green weapons sold by Banshee is 2400 glimmer. Dismantling 1 of those weapons results in 1-2 weapons part. With that said, if this is the Bungie everyone knows, I'm thinking it's going to be something like this 3550 glimmer and 1 mote for 10 parts 7100 glimmer and 3 motes for 30 parts 14200 glimmer and 5 motes for 50 parts
-
They are going to secretly nerf glimmer gains when this happens because they are bungie
-
Don't worry, silver will be used for cosmetic items only for the foreseeable future
-
Me too! Finally a way to get weapon parts
-
Edited by Sanctus Michael: 11/6/2015 12:37:01 AMFunny thing is, around October 2014 this idea was brought up in the forums, asking the gunsmith to sell weapon parts. It only took about 13 months
-
-
It was much better when weapon parts weren't an issue
-
Inb4 glimmer drop gets nerfed
-
Yay now we grind glimmer to buy weapon parts instead of just grinding weapon parts. What's the difference ? Am I missing something.

-
Finally
-
The funny thing is that under the description is that it could be bought at the tower
-
When is it active?
-
Why not just let the weapon part drops from dismantling go back to what it was before? Why complicate things by having us buy it with glimmer?
-
They say that like he hasn't accepted glimmer before. Do they realize that we buy weapons from him
-
I agree, Its nice they are not charging silver or legendary marks. They should also change the required currency to purchase materials from the vanguard vendor from legendary marks to glimmer as well. But alas that will never happen
-
So now we can grind for glimmer (not very difficult) buy weapon parts, turn them in for rep towards faction, receive strange coins, motes and other faction rewards. At least that's what I'm doing, I've never had a problem with weapon parts.
