I'm starting to believe the "destiny's dying" threads.

  • Yeah, that's just silly. 4th quarter is always when the market gets an influx of new top-tier games. The player base is always going to be fluid.

I can only talk for myself but it's dying for me yeah. Nightfall? haven't done any the last two weeks. Raid? Only do them when my clan mates need a 6th Trials? I've halo, absolutely no interest in that to be honest. That covers crucible in general really. Bouties and quests? Lol. I literally only come on to have a laugh with my friends and it's not cause it's the most fun game, it's just destiny is the game we all have. I can almost garentee after the next good multi player game comes out we'll all leave.

    • For sure, lfg is Way less than what it was even a few weeks ago. I looked 4 or 5 times today and there were only 5 or 6 people looming for the raid vs 20 or 30 a few weeks ago. I know I will be not playing much pretty soon, Lots of good games coming out, no need to endlessly grind for scraps anymore. Just cause 3 is gonna be a hell of a good time!

    • Xur should star selling exotics at 310. With Hard Raid out now, at least help people get up to higher levels. In order to prevent people just maxing out their stuff, I say that you can only buy one 310 item per week.

      • The light level/infusion system was a big mistake IMO. Nightfalls and raids are fruitless when you're over 310 light. At least before you could keep doing these activities hoping for a max level exotic or legendary drop. Now with the low level loot drops the incentives just aren't there.

Worst thing about light level is that it drags it down to your enemies level. You have 300+ light and want to do patrol on earth? To bad, a fckng shank out of nowhere!

      • I honestly think that this whole light level average thing and infusion stuff was an awful idea and they should've kept it the way it was because now everything just feels pointless I can't really explain but for example xur and vendor gear it drops at 280 while everyone is pretty much in the 300s now so unless you get a rid of a bunch of high attack rate guns the stuff is basically completely obsolete and it's dumb idk I felt like the game just felt better the way it was before

        • Bungies problem is games like fallout 4, uncharted and dark souls 3 are not too far away....I enjoy destiny but will I be grinding on destiny when these great titles are released.....probably not

There is no end game... There is no reason to be a 320. Once you beat the raid and get the gear; regardless of the light level. You have the gear and you have beat Hard Mode. There is nothing more to do. I mean Trials is fun. But that's about it. PvE becomes repetitive; like what is the point of most of it? To grind for better gear and weapons? But why do you need them? (If you have good enough gear to play trials and do the raid) Materials/Consumables: They all have the same purpose as older materials became obsolete. So basically they changed the name and the thumbnail picture but does exactly the same thing. And some other materials are just useless now... Its sad because I really do enjoy this game... But lately I have began to question why I even play it. What is the point. :-/ EDIT 1: The only other thing that I want to add is the fact that gear and weapons in Year 2 aren't much different that Year 1. There are a few new things granted. Perfect example: I have a Titan(female) and always loved how VoG armor looked on her. There is Blue Gear that is the exact same just a different helmet. Like where is the creativity?!?! This is a video game where they could come up with these crazy guns and armor....but most is just reskinned stuff with a different name. SAD FACE

            • Funny, I think you're (they're) right. I'm trying to find a group to do a fresh run on hm raid, it's barren. And all day the forums have been weak. Probably BO3 and deej's condescending weekly update. I'm still here though. I don't like BO3, and I'm concerned about the implications of Deej's post. But I still enjoy this game when I ignore all that bs.

            • I don't think Destiny is dying...yet. But I do think it's a disturbing trend for Bungie and other developers to ignore, and worse yet, to taunt/ridicule the player base when they make suggestions. Now trust me, I know a great deal of the player base for most games needs to be ridiculed because they spew nothing but hate/ignorance but there are some with constructive criticism on how to fix problems and in general, make the game a more fun, well rounded game. Destiny still has a lot of life left if they can stop the whole nerf everything mentality they have and address the real problems and not just nerf everything into oblivion. They need to realize that PvP problems aren't PvE problems and vice versa. They need to listen to the player base and for the love of god communicate and address concerns in a timely manner, even if it's just a quick post to let us know they are listening. Contrary to popular belief, a general nerf of a weapon type when there are just a few offenders doesn't balance the game, it just buries an entire class of weapons. All in all I enjoy Destiny and generally have fun playing the game and I hate to be negative but Bungie really needs to learn how to balance the game and stop the whole "nerf it" craze that's all the rage.

            • Ive reduced to only doing the raid. Bounties, dailies, and even nightfall just seem so pointless because it's so much more tedious to progress once you're above 300. Bungie has kind of dug a hole with the insane amount of currencies, different ways of leveling, grinding etc that have changed, been added, removed, and made obsolete in the past year. I'm beginning to lose interest.

              • I'm a Day 1 player and I've really enjoyed Destiny, BUT I logged on yesterday fired up the destination screen and thought 'what now?'. I couldn't be bothered to put together a fireteam for nightfall or raid so I ended up wandering around the dreadnaught. There's no content and the rewards for running the raid are not enough incentive to keep going back. Even slight increases to light on each raid would be something to keep the fun going. It was a mistake to not bring year 1 guns forward into year 2. With the new weapon balancing, Bungie made all weapons viable which meant players didn't have to use year 1 weapons if they didn't want to. Bungie just said, 'no, you're not playing with those anymore'. Building fireteams is painful. Why should I go to the forums to find more Guardians when I have hundreds of existing friends? The interface that Destiny gives me to contact and communicate with friends is awful. Finding a good fireteam is harder than the gameplay itself. The infuse system is a good idea but the grind is too much. Most people can only improve their weapons from infusing unwanted raid weapons. What happens when rng means they don't drop? No weapon improvements. The whole thing is a hamster wheel and it's kinda hard to buy it anymore.

              • HoW seemed to be the beginning of the end....definitely for me. My Destiny friends went from 15 down to about 4 max and then I slowly quit. Only recently I've got back online for TTK but I've noticed a massive decline in people on LFG and the chat on here. I don't think it's going to die but it's certainly changed a lot since the original.

                  • I hate this idea that destiny it supposed to be a long term game. When a new title comes out, people play, enjoy it, get bored, play the best title. Well with destiny you play it, grind it, play other game, come right back to destiny. This game needs to be left behind.

                  • I don't think it dying. There's been a bunch of AAA titles coming out and most people will get what their friends are playing to play with them. I got Halo 5 and still log plenty of time on Destiny. It's still fun for me and I enjoy the grind for the most part. I had a blast playing ToO tonight and doing the KF normal raid Tuesday. There will always be a hardcore fan base who plays Destiny and hopefully those other games will weed out some of the problem people in the community. Some people just need a break and when Bungie drops a new DLC the numbers will go up again. Just my 2¢.
