Oh look. More unnecessary bitching. Here's a crazy thought: Devs rework what they as the designers realize have faults. Here's another crazy thought: the design of year one perks were flawed and didn't meet their design intentions. Here's even more crazy thoughts: the above statements are true. Perks were designed to provide a benefit with a cost or at most a single decent benefit. Field scout had no cost and also had two upsides. As great as that is for players, in the grand scheme of things it didn't fit. Old content always gets left behind. When Bungie gets the man power maybe they'll spend the time rejuvenating old raids. I wouldn't be surprised if they did. They'd want new players to eventually experience the staples of year one. However, Destiny had an extremely rocky start with year one and it's just found its footing in year two. Releasing new content will obviously always have priority over updating the old.

There is very, very little reason for them to do some of the stuff they did. Leaving year 1 exotics behind? Most of them (Read: Pretty much all except Gally and Icebreaker) were nowhere near game-breaking, and in fact after the 2.0 re-balance or so were pretty alright, for the most part. The only reason they left these guns behind is because they WANTED to. It had nothing to do with bad design choices... They simply did not wish to take the time to bring those guns back into year 2. In fact, this is true of a lot of content! Alright, sure, I get why they nixed elemental primaries. They made the game stale because they were few in number and better than non-elemental guns in a significant portion of endgame stuff. Alright, so I can understand why those were degraded. But the armors? The class items? The non-elemental primaries/other guns? Generally these were also simply left behind because Bungie didn't wanna mess with them. Which, you know, would be alright if that had been all there was to it. That was a LOT of guns, and it's understandable that bringing them into year 2 is a LOT of work and they had to make some cuts to ensure quality. But that wasn't all there was to it. Deej literally said that all our achievements would be respected. Yet, here I am, completely unable to use that Thorn I put so much time and effort into, despite the paradoxical fact that it's not really that strong anymore, at least in the PvP area where it was so highly criticized as OP (The DoT won't decrease your TTK any unless you miss a few shots, and it also felt the hand-cannon slaughter just like everything else...) Even worse is that I know that some players got exotics with no year-2 equivilant in their veterans package... I dunno about you, but that feels like a huge middle finger from Bungie to me, especially if it was one you'd been trying to get for so long. "Oh hey, here's that super rare gun you always wanted. BUT WAIT! IT'S NOW COMPLETELY USELESS! MUHAHAHAHA!" The problem with bringing the perks into play... Is that they can easily change them. They've already done so, in fact! Remember how they removed those shotgun perks from literally everything in the game? That was a thing. Or how they changed other problematic perks to have different effects in 2.0! They can do that. In fact, I'd say it SHOULD be a rather simple matter for them to do if I didn't know that their development environment is utter shit. (That's not me being harsh on them or anything. It actually is awful. I mean, having to literally let a map open overnight to move something to inches to the left? That's bad any way you look at it.) Not only that, but keep in mind that they LITERALLY BLOCKED OFF LARGE PORTIONS OF THE GAME for those that did not pony up for TTK, despite straight-up saying they wouldn't. They nixed Crucible and Vanguard marks, and made Legendaries unobtainable until level 40, so non-TTK players can't get any sort of rewards along those lines for anything anymore.... And even if they could, they can't do any vanguard strikes. That was moved behind TTK as well, aside from the non-heroic versions that, again, don't give you much of anything. And I don't really think they can get any exotics either, though I could be wrong on that one... But I'm pretty sure those were largely removed or moved to level 40 as well. And.... You know what? There are already tons of posts about this buried on the forums. Do a few searches, and I'm sure you'll find them. The issue isn't what they left behind in and of itself. The issue is that, not only did they leave all of this stuff behind... They lied about it so heavily. Lies, poor design choices, scheming manipulation of the playerbase.... How is any of this okay to you?

I hear ya. The simple fact is the Year one gear was some of the best we've had. Look at your exotic/Raid amour/weapon perks. Quicker reload for special weapons, More heavy ammo, Perks that actually mattered(extra grenades, disorientate when self res, extra jump when equipped ). Now they are more specific ,fast reloads for shotgun, only more ammo for machine guns. They gave us extra vault space but made it that if we wanted specific perks we would require more of that same armor/weapon to get what we wanted. Primary elements are great. The only time they were used is with nightfalls/POE with burns. I never really use any of them for crucible for an upper hand as they were made for PVE. And with the mix of different shields with taken enemys it really doesn't make it that much easier. The way I see it they should just have the etheric light scenario from HOW. Which ,except for the fact that POE was not that great and crucible was won with certain weapons ,was a great system. Give us a material that can bring our weapons/armor to the next level from completing hard mode Raids. Make the hard mode gear drop at the highest level like they used to.

With this gear reset, gated exotic quests, multiple difficulty for one raid, etc. Bungie is intentionally controlling how fast we gear up. I believe the reason they nixed most Y1 exotics was to force players to play more to acquire the new Y2 shit. They know even people who are burnt out will grind it out so they don't get left behind, even tho the next expansion will cause another gear reset most likely. They are intentionally making the game a grind in order to drag out its 10yr plan. They know their half assed attempts at making an expansion are half assed, so they needed to create another reason to play. I believe this is because they either lack the ability or resources to fill that time with fun, new content instead. Or it's possible they just don't give a shit and only care about $; trying to make quick cash off a game that failed in development and they don't believe will make it 10yrs.
