Ive been noticing an increase in the amount of disrespect from bungie employees on community forums.
Just look at todays weekly update and the extremely snarky and sarcastic comments from Deej such as "omg he only has 1600 weapon parts left we need to do something" and "we hold the right to do anything with the game economy we want."
Does anyone else think snarky comments like this are very unprofessional? Like Bungie you act like your some sort of hero for fixing a problem that YOU created.
Here is a comment from another post that explains my thoughts perfectly, all credit goes to user Wahrnye
"Just another joke of a weekly update that makes it easier to not look back on this game going forward.
Announcing the weapon parts change - Fine, but that's a fix to a problem THEY created. And when addressing the fact that THEY created this problem, DeeJ wraps it up in unnecessary snark about being curators of THEIR living world. Hubris to the highest degree; it's almost as if they're saying how dare we question their choices?
Let me say this next part slowly so the apologists can understand: Etheric Light and Wormspore uses should have been in the game since September's launch, not something coming soon by December. They knew Etheric Light was a thing that many people had plenty of and they also introduced Wormspore (apparently) without any regard for what to do with it outside a few weapon upgrades. IIt's going to take them almost 3 months to finally make these things meaningful? These are all issues they created by poor planning or bad oversight, not something they should be praised for fixing AFTER the fact.
The rest of the entire update was about the same tired PVP bullshit as almost every other weekly update. No news on new content, no commenting on the terrible loot system - especially in regards to raid drops (I love doing the raid and getting a fourth duplicate item at 302 light... ) - or the fact that Nightfalls, Strikes, and Court of Oryx ceases being rewarding once you reach 300 light or more.
I've seen this playbook before. Between this and Activision spouting off their easily manipulated "registered user" numbers (aka 'investor math'), they've pretty much already decided they're going to pander to the base players who believe Bungie can never, ever, do any wrong. Nothing will change going forward. Bungie and Activision are living in their own echo chamber - as evidenced by the fact that they spend more time conversing with the "community" on Bungie-friendly outlets like Reddit and Twitter..."
EDIT:
A lot of you seem to think im just looking for something to be offended by cuz im a "no balls toxic loser"
Its more im just fed up with the bullshit direction this game is taking like timegating exotics that i already payed for to extend gameplay time and patching things like weapon parts for no -blam!-ing reason
Perhaps the most irritating thing is the bungie fanboys and dickriders who will stop at nothing to defend everything the devs do to this game and every word that comes out of that douchebag known as Deej's mouth.
Go ahead meet me with ninja justice for stating the obvious about your shit company and bottomfeeder fanboys
EDIT2
It seems the common defense for Deejs tone is "oh bungie has to go through so much shit and complaining on the forums, people are meanies"
You people cant seriously believe its ok for a company to retaliate in this fashion. Oh no a game developer has to see negative feedback about the game they made wahh wahh prayers for bungie" All of you are saying "can the entitled/offended generation go away", if you ask me the people defending bungie with this mindset are the "offended generation."
Some of you say, "The customer is always right bullshit has to stop." Anyone who utters this is a complete moron and has either no concept of business ethics or is 15 years old and thinks they are being righteous and hip.
Go ahead, start a business and whenever a customer has a problem with you or the product, tell them to -blam!- OFF. Yea thats a good business model, you will surely succeed.

He was being sarcastic, there are many people I play with having no problems with weapon parts or any other type of material shortage bc they were saving up the entire amount of time since then the house of wolves dlc was released. As far as they reserve the right to change the economy at anytime they chose I'm pretty sure he was saying that to remind everyone they are making the changes to help us out since once again everyone hooped up on the forums and cried about any type of minimal grinding they have been forced to take part in. Just like everything else in this game if you guys don't like something then you jump on the forum every single day and shout to the skies about how unfair your destiny life has become. If it was up to you guys the whole game would be flipped upside down from week to week and nothing would ever be accomplished but just as most other people in this world, nothing is ever good enough and you wouldn't realize a great thing if it was slapping you in the face and you guys will never realize the great things that you have in your life until they are gone. Fools. After all though, being a fool is you and everyone else's right to be.

wow someone was so offended by a joke that he then writes an insane amount of completely retarded text crying about how offended he is that someone made a joke about him. so here are some tips for you asshole 1. stop whining 2. go back to pre-school 3. go ahead tell your mom 4. no one with any intelligence gives a shit about your pathetic need for attention or respect
-
Just stop, find something in real life to complain about...try getting married
-
Correct Sir!
-
I'd be passive aggressive towards this community too. Sometimes I enjoy being part of this community but most of the time I'm ashamed of what I see here.
-
They create a small problem, like weapon parts, just so we'd complain and they can easily fix it. A problem like this is small but affective in disrupting our gaming experience. That's why it's a perfect thing to push off balance. While we piss and moan about this, the bigger problems don't get seen. We're too busy focusing on weapons parts. So, what are we missing?
-
Inappropriate? This is their website, their game, and their weekly update. They can say whatever the hell they please. You're lucky they even bother talking to us at all with as much as this community bad mouths them on their own site.
-
Fallout 4 comes out on Tuesday...
-
Why should he act any different to this toxic community?
-
I wish deej was my dad
-
#OP is Lettuce
-
Too many brain dead fan boys to actually see any problem with this game. It's gone to shit.
-
So we're (the community) allowed to spit in bungie's face and disrespect them, but they can't make a harmless joke about us? Shut up.
-
One your last edit.. Change "15 year old" to "12 year old" A 15 year old would never say BS like that(i am 15)
-
You know its a lie because Deej nor does his boss even play the game to get 1600 weapon parts. As much as I dislike Luke Smith, at least he actually plays the game he is involved in.
-
All I heard Deej say was Banshee selling weapon parts for glimmer, that made my day. Yeah Deej yeah!
-
It's probably because the community is blatantly aggressive and tend to act like children. But that's not my business
-
Wasn't going to do this, but there's way too much crap falling out of people's digi-mouths. Exactly when the -blam!- did respecting your consumers and providing proper customer service just become something that was unreasonably expected by an "entitled whiner generation?" Don't get me wrong, I was pleasantly surprised our issue was even addressed in the update with plans to remedy the situation. For that, I say thanks for listening DeeJ and Bungie. However, when we start feeling quality customer service is asking too much, what the hell is the point of capitalism?
-
I laughed at the comment deej made. Hmmm I wonder why his boss has 1600 weapon parts... Maybe he had the slightest idea they were going to cut the drop rate. I think it was supposed to be funny, but with all jokes , they can come off negatively. So what can you do?
-
Edited by op12-MG: 11/6/2015 7:01:30 PMI mean reading all the negative comments and forums always blasted at them, then you get surprised if he gives a sarcastic or somewhat nasty tone back for once and suddenly you think he's a bad guy?
-
It's because this community is full of toxic ass hats that think they are a business guru/genius that could make the game better yet have probly never held a serious job in business. This community sucks balls and honestly I don't blame deej/cozmo or any other bungie employee for being fed up with it. They get fed nothing but the worst that this community has to offer, I personally would quit if I was in their position and find a less thankless job.
-
-
Yea that statement by deej was off putting but at the end this shit is just a video game, and people are going complain no matter what, that's how things get done. Getting going at it. If it was a shot to the community, it was stupid seeing one of their own put out a avg of weapon parts per account that benefited the opposing argument...
-
You're imagining it. Your mistaking attempted humor for passive aggressive attacks. But you know what? Even if you're right, that Deej and Bungie are making passive aggressive and disrespectful comments toward this community, so what? This community is awful. This community has zero respect for Bungie and eeh people who work there. This community leaves thousands of passive aggressive and blatantly hostile messages on this forum every day. If someone at Bungie wants to every now and then make an off hand comment about how you're all awful people (which is not what they did at all) I think that would be fine. It wouldn't be an insult. It would be a truthful observation.
-
I think the tone of development in general has changed, rather than feeling like a part of their community they are now "curators" of it, as he said. When players are getting everything they want, they are no longer happy for them, they think they need to pull the carrot a little farther away to keep the players involved longer.
-
Well I'm glad people are offended, this community needs a good slap in the face.
