Ive been noticing an increase in the amount of disrespect from bungie employees on community forums.
Just look at todays weekly update and the extremely snarky and sarcastic comments from Deej such as "omg he only has 1600 weapon parts left we need to do something" and "we hold the right to do anything with the game economy we want."
Does anyone else think snarky comments like this are very unprofessional? Like Bungie you act like your some sort of hero for fixing a problem that YOU created.
Here is a comment from another post that explains my thoughts perfectly, all credit goes to user Wahrnye
"Just another joke of a weekly update that makes it easier to not look back on this game going forward.
Announcing the weapon parts change - Fine, but that's a fix to a problem THEY created. And when addressing the fact that THEY created this problem, DeeJ wraps it up in unnecessary snark about being curators of THEIR living world. Hubris to the highest degree; it's almost as if they're saying how dare we question their choices?
Let me say this next part slowly so the apologists can understand: Etheric Light and Wormspore uses should have been in the game since September's launch, not something coming soon by December. They knew Etheric Light was a thing that many people had plenty of and they also introduced Wormspore (apparently) without any regard for what to do with it outside a few weapon upgrades. IIt's going to take them almost 3 months to finally make these things meaningful? These are all issues they created by poor planning or bad oversight, not something they should be praised for fixing AFTER the fact.
The rest of the entire update was about the same tired PVP bullshit as almost every other weekly update. No news on new content, no commenting on the terrible loot system - especially in regards to raid drops (I love doing the raid and getting a fourth duplicate item at 302 light... ) - or the fact that Nightfalls, Strikes, and Court of Oryx ceases being rewarding once you reach 300 light or more.
I've seen this playbook before. Between this and Activision spouting off their easily manipulated "registered user" numbers (aka 'investor math'), they've pretty much already decided they're going to pander to the base players who believe Bungie can never, ever, do any wrong. Nothing will change going forward. Bungie and Activision are living in their own echo chamber - as evidenced by the fact that they spend more time conversing with the "community" on Bungie-friendly outlets like Reddit and Twitter..."
EDIT:
A lot of you seem to think im just looking for something to be offended by cuz im a "no balls toxic loser"
Its more im just fed up with the bullshit direction this game is taking like timegating exotics that i already payed for to extend gameplay time and patching things like weapon parts for no -blam!-ing reason
Perhaps the most irritating thing is the bungie fanboys and dickriders who will stop at nothing to defend everything the devs do to this game and every word that comes out of that douchebag known as Deej's mouth.
Go ahead meet me with ninja justice for stating the obvious about your shit company and bottomfeeder fanboys
EDIT2
It seems the common defense for Deejs tone is "oh bungie has to go through so much shit and complaining on the forums, people are meanies"
You people cant seriously believe its ok for a company to retaliate in this fashion. Oh no a game developer has to see negative feedback about the game they made wahh wahh prayers for bungie" All of you are saying "can the entitled/offended generation go away", if you ask me the people defending bungie with this mindset are the "offended generation."
Some of you say, "The customer is always right bullshit has to stop." Anyone who utters this is a complete moron and has either no concept of business ethics or is 15 years old and thinks they are being righteous and hip.
Go ahead, start a business and whenever a customer has a problem with you or the product, tell them to -blam!- OFF. Yea thats a good business model, you will surely succeed.

It is a game. They have a sense of humor. Don't read too much into it.
-
I thought he sounded like an ass too, but o wasn't deeply offended or bothered. Just triggered a smirk and an eye roll as I read it.
-
Maybe they are just adding color to your weekly news, so you know what's going on behind the scenes. I think your being overly sensitive.
-
It has always been that way, it's not increasing. "A funny thing happened to Black Spindle!" "You throw money at the screen whenever I tell you to do so". And so on. When I'll leave this game (that is as soon as a good competitor come out - The Division ?), no matter what, I'm not coming back if the courrent management is still in charge. Then again, I really doubt this "ten year project" will pass the 2 year mark, so may be I'm not gonna have a chance anyway. I'm fine with that. Really fine.
-
Suck it up and stop acting like a weak minded little child.
-
I can empathize in some ways where your talking about the attitude, but they are just telling it to you straight. Gotta think about how many people everyday keep telling them about what they messed up on or what they need to fix. What matters is they are taking the steps to fix issues. Also I get everybody wants all the exotics available now but truly if it wasn't for data mining nobody would have known about them in the first place. My opinion it would have been more of a surprise and more exciting to see them released over time and never known. I for one like this idea of slowly releasing them, at least we have something to look forward too until next dlc drop. It's better than the situation like dark below where everybody had almost everything in no time, then people stopped playing for awhile because of the lack of content left available to get. All in all past the pros and cons, at least we know there is still more content on the way. I welcome corrective criticism and am always open for debate on anything I have said.
-
I have been noticing that too. This is becoming one cocky ass dev unit.
-
Ambition you are a -blam!-ing god! These complaints were very well articulated and agreeable. Sadly I don't think bungie even reads these comments on their own fourm. Even if they do read it at the very least they will ignore it and at the very most they will act like immature children and have the worst response to criticism like always. Bungie doesnt care for their community they only care about their ego. I think the Marty O Donald lawsuit against bungie proves that.
-
Unfortunately, we live in the age of "the sheeples" or the " yes sir may I have another". Nowadays if your thinking strays from the norm (see above) your crazy or wrong. It's like the Matrix, people will defend the system no matter what...lol
-
WE created the weapon parts crisis, not Bungie.
-
Just be grateful the Gunsmith is selling weapon parts not Tess as I feared.
-
For me the big question is WHY they put etheric light out of the game!!?? I Think it's been the best thing ever. Ok, they could be more work to get, but I just don't like being told what to use and how to play a game were loot and therefore equipment is everything!! If you found your perfect gun, you should be able to work on it and make it better and better! Why not!? I love the Lord high fixer, they never made another HC just like it, so I have to use guns I don't want to!! Why?? There should be a quest that is triggered when you achieved a certain amount of kills with one gun, like 500 or 1000. And that quest will give you the option to optimise that one gun, even add elemental damage. I don't see a problem there as only a few people would do that, only the ones that really found their perfect gun...
-
This is the worst gaming company in history. Shame to anyone who buys or supports this fraud-fest.
-
Not an apologist for anyone. least of all Bungie, but here's a thought - When you're sensitive - a genuine/earnest attempt a self deprecating humor WILL look 'snarky' and 'unprofessional' to you. Wanna see unprofessional? I really wish Deej, Cozmo or anyone with a Bungie badge engages thus on here: you/anyone esle who are 'appropriate': Hey this is ri dick ulous. We need more X. It was stupid to take away Y. Need more Z. Deej: You suck you/anyone else who are 'appropriate': What?1 I suck? maybe you suck. Deej: No, u Deej: Ok ok..chilll mother-blam!-er. was just messin with Tess n. I hear you. we'll put in something you/anyone else who are 'appropriate': when? Deej: I dunno man..soon i guess? Its almost winter time bro, guys here get all sleepy after partying so hard.. Shit's gonna take some time, just saying. you/anyone else who are 'appropriate': Uh ok. At least you noticed. Deej: Well there is one other thing doe, Pay the tribute of 5000 Silver NOW! biotch. you/anyone else who are 'appropriate': huh..what? Why? Deej: Because you suck I really wish someone from Bungie replies such, to the any number of insane entitled posts that come up.

I believe Bungie was joking. Humor...

However, the customer is still your customer, and they should be treated with respect and courteously. The man who first said, "The customer is always right," died alone and broke in a mental institution. He is most certainly not a man whose advice I would follow.

If you are primed to be pissed you will be.
-
I'm not going to defend Bungie or anything, but you are getting way too mad over a joke, kiddo. Of all the things we could complain about when it comes to Destiny, we have people complaining about weapon parts, Etheric Light and a couple of jokes. With a community this toxic, I can fully understand why Destiny is in its current state.
-
-
Deej has one job as a public relations position, and it is to make sure stiff like this doesn't happen. Blame the community all you want but there is no denying that deej took a misstep here and he clearly offended a decent amount of the player base.
-
Well, it IS their game. And people are too lazy to work for anything. If destiny makes things too easy, people will stop playing. Even with all of the cry babies on here whining about how hard it is, the other millions of players are doing just fine.
-
Learn to take a damn joke. Am I happy with the lack of transparency? Yes. Could the updates be better? Yes. However, so far they've been going in the right direction with ttk, so I'm not really worried about their "tone". And seriously , whoever said the customer is always right, could have never worked with the public in their life. At least not with all the entitled shits running around today.
-
People can't take a joke everyone is always so serious
-
This community can dish it, but can't take it. I get that we are customers and should be treated with a certain amount of respect, but to be honest this community condemns Bungie on any move they make. Most businesses can refuse service to people that are down right rude. Hell during my stint in retail I ejected a few clients from my store. Bungie takes it and says we'll work on it. Fact is respect and courtesy are social reciprocation of mutual respect. I'm surprised they went this long before throwing jabs back. Lastly, back to my first sentence. This community needs thicker skin. I read the statement, laughed and went about my day. All you offended should do the same.
-
Screw Destiny. Screw Bungie. Screw Activision. My bags are packed for BOSTON.
