Ive been noticing an increase in the amount of disrespect from bungie employees on community forums.
Just look at todays weekly update and the extremely snarky and sarcastic comments from Deej such as "omg he only has 1600 weapon parts left we need to do something" and "we hold the right to do anything with the game economy we want."
Does anyone else think snarky comments like this are very unprofessional? Like Bungie you act like your some sort of hero for fixing a problem that YOU created.
Here is a comment from another post that explains my thoughts perfectly, all credit goes to user Wahrnye
"Just another joke of a weekly update that makes it easier to not look back on this game going forward.
Announcing the weapon parts change - Fine, but that's a fix to a problem THEY created. And when addressing the fact that THEY created this problem, DeeJ wraps it up in unnecessary snark about being curators of THEIR living world. Hubris to the highest degree; it's almost as if they're saying how dare we question their choices?
Let me say this next part slowly so the apologists can understand: Etheric Light and Wormspore uses should have been in the game since September's launch, not something coming soon by December. They knew Etheric Light was a thing that many people had plenty of and they also introduced Wormspore (apparently) without any regard for what to do with it outside a few weapon upgrades. IIt's going to take them almost 3 months to finally make these things meaningful? These are all issues they created by poor planning or bad oversight, not something they should be praised for fixing AFTER the fact.
The rest of the entire update was about the same tired PVP bullshit as almost every other weekly update. No news on new content, no commenting on the terrible loot system - especially in regards to raid drops (I love doing the raid and getting a fourth duplicate item at 302 light... ) - or the fact that Nightfalls, Strikes, and Court of Oryx ceases being rewarding once you reach 300 light or more.
I've seen this playbook before. Between this and Activision spouting off their easily manipulated "registered user" numbers (aka 'investor math'), they've pretty much already decided they're going to pander to the base players who believe Bungie can never, ever, do any wrong. Nothing will change going forward. Bungie and Activision are living in their own echo chamber - as evidenced by the fact that they spend more time conversing with the "community" on Bungie-friendly outlets like Reddit and Twitter..."
EDIT:
A lot of you seem to think im just looking for something to be offended by cuz im a "no balls toxic loser"
Its more im just fed up with the bullshit direction this game is taking like timegating exotics that i already payed for to extend gameplay time and patching things like weapon parts for no -blam!-ing reason
Perhaps the most irritating thing is the bungie fanboys and dickriders who will stop at nothing to defend everything the devs do to this game and every word that comes out of that douchebag known as Deej's mouth.
Go ahead meet me with ninja justice for stating the obvious about your shit company and bottomfeeder fanboys
EDIT2
It seems the common defense for Deejs tone is "oh bungie has to go through so much shit and complaining on the forums, people are meanies"
You people cant seriously believe its ok for a company to retaliate in this fashion. Oh no a game developer has to see negative feedback about the game they made wahh wahh prayers for bungie" All of you are saying "can the entitled/offended generation go away", if you ask me the people defending bungie with this mindset are the "offended generation."
Some of you say, "The customer is always right bullshit has to stop." Anyone who utters this is a complete moron and has either no concept of business ethics or is 15 years old and thinks they are being righteous and hip.
Go ahead, start a business and whenever a customer has a problem with you or the product, tell them to -blam!- OFF. Yea thats a good business model, you will surely succeed.

Edited by syiechi: 11/6/2015 5:16:14 PMYou big dummy.

Edited by bobswerski: 11/6/2015 5:11:04 PMI'd be pretty pissy if my job was to deal with the entitled/self-important dipshits on these forums too. I can barely tolerate it in the small doses I get on my phone killing time waiting for something more important.
-
I duno man. Short of putting #Satire on the end of every single line of text he writes it's hard to convey tone in e-mail/forum posts. Not an excuse for some of the questionable decisions they made, some I agree with some I don't, but I think getting upset about something someone wrote on the internet because you chose to interpret it that way is kind of silly. Almost every time DeeJ is in a live stream he says things like this that could be taken as snarky if you just read them in a forum post. My two cents whatever.
-
I'm with you I'll probably still play but not as much now that other games are coming out
-
You're upset at the tone from Bungie? Do you read these forums? Actually look at the content people post, 75% of the "fans" of this game write about Bungie, Destiny like they own it. The amount of hate, over the top aggression, threats, constant degrading and complete lack of respect for anyone at Bungie is insane. People constantly act like being on the Internet means they can say/act anyway they want and then demand that others treat them with respect and sincerity. I know OP isn't the cause for DeeJ coming across as sarcastic and snarky but the toxicity of gaming forums in general would make any game manufacturer, community manager, designer feel like they need to defend themselves in some way. It sucks that this is the way online communities are. Maybe we as the "fans" should start to make the change to treat the designers and managers with a bit of the respect they deserve and we as the community can hold them to the same standards. We are all people, start treating people that way before demanding the same in return.

Edited by TheXanatonian: 11/6/2015 5:09:44 PMEasy to see the "problems" in hindsight and through a narrow lens. I have well over 500 weapons parts and never got close to running out. Also I don't have a ton of unused eitheric light. They need to make a game and changes to that game based on the population as a whole.

"Humour mother-blam!-er, do you speak it?!"
Yes, I changed that reference.
-
Edited by SaltyEssentials: 11/6/2015 5:08:38 PMBump I think we are all growing tiresome of their shit. I lost faith when my 310 Black Spindle was nerfed to 290 in my freakin inventory a week later. (Us being punished for their dumbass mistake...or was it?)
-
I know you got a lot of negative comments but you're right. I still come here and on reddit destiny from times to times because there are things I liked a lot about this game and I'm looking for news. Truth is, I quit on this game because of the general direction it has taken and the way they treat their fan base. IMO, it's either very poor humor or disrespect. Maybe even both. They better wake up and make something better with Destiny 2 (and I should say, make it good AT LAUNCH) because otherwise their little 10 year plan is gonna fail.
-
Bungie needs to take a step back. -blam!-ing assholes.
-
For me the biggest reason im moving on is that bungie continues to micro manage its player base. Everytime players find a comfotable way to grind they change it. I think back to the loot cave days. Sitting at skywatch popping heads in the cave and watching for the purple glow inside. If players want to grind that way, let them. Some called it cheating but really it was just a way to grind that wasnt "intentional". So what. Players are still playing your game. Plus those were the days when purple actually meant blue. This is a grinding game no argument there but at least let your player base grind however they want. Stop nerfing every way that we figure out how to marginally expedite the process. Bungie if you are actually reading this than here is some solid advice, you will not reach your 10 year goal by extending the grind. All that does is create salt. I understand that this game is a grinder but there is still a line where the grind vs rewards become unbalanced.

Hahhaah. Sarcasm eludes fan. Hot topic
-
Jesus that is way too many words bro.
-
Bump! -blam!- deejnuts, cozmo for being a bitch a and bungie for letting activision -blam!- them in the ass. I've wasted a whopping almost 1000 hours into this game. Highest i had was 130 on kingdom hearts 2 lmao. It's utter bullshit the way they treat they're customers. Its my money and i want the full game now!!!!
-
Bungie doesn't care. Speak with your wallet next time.
-
You are absolutely right. Which is why you are getting so many negative comments.
-
"Why so serious? "
-
I've defended them all through year one but I'm getting tired of it. They just want all of us to throw money at our screens they admit that and that's all they care about
-
-
Everyone offended by this, you're all idiots.
-
I guess deej can't joke with anybody...all of year one we wanted him to do this stuff
-
Amen! Delete the game! Be free! I deleted it but I'm in a rehab period. Anything can happen in this period....
-
O no people can dish out but cry when it comes back around. Pathetic i thought it was amusing but then again i can handle passive aggressiveness. The people who are crying about this need to shake out the sand from well you know the saying.
-
Text can be easily misconstrued without knowing the tone. I personally didn't find the message to be inappropriate.

Massive buttcheeks.

Yea, I've always thought the guys that are the face of bungie are like a bunch of spoiled college students with a science project. "How dare you question my world and the means in which I run it. I could care less you've invested money in it. Now let me drink my Frappuccino and add this cool new looking festival of lights think while the broke stuff stays broke." I have LOVED this game from the very start and still do, but it's tedious and monotonous now and yes I am always the optimist and will probably buy Destiny 2 because I think they will turn around and become a more streamlined and professional company. But my hopes are not high on that thought. I know they get a lot of crap, but they bring it on themselves by not fixing what is broke. All the media about 8 hours to load the maps to make a small change needs to be fixed. They need to outsource their current tools and have them optimized if they can't do them in house. That way they can keep moving and when they get the better tools things can move a light speed and get done more efficiently. It seems the CIO/IT Director/Manager needs to be fired if he can't provide his engineers with a fix or better tools.
