Ive been noticing an increase in the amount of disrespect from bungie employees on community forums.
Just look at todays weekly update and the extremely snarky and sarcastic comments from Deej such as "omg he only has 1600 weapon parts left we need to do something" and "we hold the right to do anything with the game economy we want."
Does anyone else think snarky comments like this are very unprofessional? Like Bungie you act like your some sort of hero for fixing a problem that YOU created.
Here is a comment from another post that explains my thoughts perfectly, all credit goes to user Wahrnye
"Just another joke of a weekly update that makes it easier to not look back on this game going forward.
Announcing the weapon parts change - Fine, but that's a fix to a problem THEY created. And when addressing the fact that THEY created this problem, DeeJ wraps it up in unnecessary snark about being curators of THEIR living world. Hubris to the highest degree; it's almost as if they're saying how dare we question their choices?
Let me say this next part slowly so the apologists can understand: Etheric Light and Wormspore uses should have been in the game since September's launch, not something coming soon by December. They knew Etheric Light was a thing that many people had plenty of and they also introduced Wormspore (apparently) without any regard for what to do with it outside a few weapon upgrades. IIt's going to take them almost 3 months to finally make these things meaningful? These are all issues they created by poor planning or bad oversight, not something they should be praised for fixing AFTER the fact.
The rest of the entire update was about the same tired PVP bullshit as almost every other weekly update. No news on new content, no commenting on the terrible loot system - especially in regards to raid drops (I love doing the raid and getting a fourth duplicate item at 302 light... ) - or the fact that Nightfalls, Strikes, and Court of Oryx ceases being rewarding once you reach 300 light or more.
I've seen this playbook before. Between this and Activision spouting off their easily manipulated "registered user" numbers (aka 'investor math'), they've pretty much already decided they're going to pander to the base players who believe Bungie can never, ever, do any wrong. Nothing will change going forward. Bungie and Activision are living in their own echo chamber - as evidenced by the fact that they spend more time conversing with the "community" on Bungie-friendly outlets like Reddit and Twitter..."
EDIT:
A lot of you seem to think im just looking for something to be offended by cuz im a "no balls toxic loser"
Its more im just fed up with the bullshit direction this game is taking like timegating exotics that i already payed for to extend gameplay time and patching things like weapon parts for no -blam!-ing reason
Perhaps the most irritating thing is the bungie fanboys and dickriders who will stop at nothing to defend everything the devs do to this game and every word that comes out of that douchebag known as Deej's mouth.
Go ahead meet me with ninja justice for stating the obvious about your shit company and bottomfeeder fanboys
EDIT2
It seems the common defense for Deejs tone is "oh bungie has to go through so much shit and complaining on the forums, people are meanies"
You people cant seriously believe its ok for a company to retaliate in this fashion. Oh no a game developer has to see negative feedback about the game they made wahh wahh prayers for bungie" All of you are saying "can the entitled/offended generation go away", if you ask me the people defending bungie with this mindset are the "offended generation."
Some of you say, "The customer is always right bullshit has to stop." Anyone who utters this is a complete moron and has either no concept of business ethics or is 15 years old and thinks they are being righteous and hip.
Go ahead, start a business and whenever a customer has a problem with you or the product, tell them to -blam!- OFF. Yea thats a good business model, you will surely succeed.

In regards to previous comments: Bungie made this app, for a game that they sought a Teen rating from the ESRB. We are seeing evidence of their confidence faltering from the consistent rage posted on their (moderated) forums. A: they should've known, and been prepared for constant backlash. B: most of the issues are economic and coding centered, overlooked at the start, as if no one proofread their game. C: as an avid gamer and business professional, I do feel disrespected with their handling of our time and agree that the update's author is loosing his sense of tact. Of course, he did say he was going on vacation. My personal thoughts? We're all playing a game. The developers are trying everything they can to sell us the pen, and I honestly think this update was premeditated quite a long time ago. (Keeping the diamonds in the vault) The older players want a well developed title, without constant setbacks of minor adjustments that must be corrected, funded by vanity items. The younger players want sunbreaker nerfed. (Which doesn't need it, our classes need more separation from each other to further distinguish their roles, not "balance"). These are also the players making posts about how happy they are with the gunsmith selling weapon parts. So maybe Deej is pulling out his hair a bit, he's been given the wonderful position of CSR on the front line of Christmas returns at Walmart. Not that I feel sorry for him, this is only one of many updates I've been very dissatisfied with. To put it simply, it is becoming increasingly difficult to see the writers/managers/developers effort that they are supposedly putting towards making destiny ".. A game that we all want to play." I do see the carrot though, quite clearly.
-
They are getting angry because destiny is loosing player base and yet they still aren't pulling out anything amazing
-
Where was this? I didn't see it
-
They're trying to get the point across that they're tired of your guys' shit. You guys only ever complain and it is literally impossible to keep you people happy.

Edited by way455: 11/6/2015 3:22:49 PMWell said bud. It was finally enough for this day one Destiny apologist to buy BO3 this morning. I am done with months late fixes that should never have had to be fixes (like the weapon parts nerf). I have known Destiny doesn't care about my time and effort for a while but I played anyway because I loved the game and I was still the highest level and had everything. Now once again after all this time... I'm under leveled again and just can't get certain drops while I watch people who bought the game three weeks ago pass me in level and gear. That's not how it's supposed to be. I'm moving on and it's bittersweet for me because I have so many good memories with this game. But like my Shadow Price and Gally, they are no longer valid.
-
I honestly didn't find the tone offensive, I actually found it funny. You guys should be less sensitive
-
Are you people soft minded? I didn't see anything wrong.
-
I had the same thought when reading the update. I don't really get why they feel the need to be sarcastic and condescending to the player base.
-
I agree, can anyone name just 1 thing that bungie did to improve the game that was suggested by the community? Hell can you name 1 thing bungie did to improve the game in general? They say they read the forums and listen to their fans, but EVERY SINGLE TIME cozmo or deej replies to anyone here its always "cool idea, but no promises" ... I feel like they look at what the community wants and go in the opposite direction. NOT ONCE have they addressed the shitty rng in a weekly update.
-
You must be one of those politically correct children of the next generation.
-
I have 2 weapon parts, pre Ttk I had 1,000+ I just deleted some god rolled hawksaws and stares for parts. I only cry for 5 hours a day
-
So many whiners and crybabies in these forums.....imagine if you had a forum and 99% of the comments were negative, you'd be a little irritated and make some remarks too.Its their game and their forums if people don't like it Noone is forcing them to keep playing
-
Time to find a sense of humour methinks. Surely the 1,600 weapon parts thing was an attempt at humour to lift the mood? I think you just mis-read the intention of what he was saying. Try to remember it's only a game! :-)
-
I agree 110 percent. They want to be hailed as heroes for fixing problems they create. And the update was full of backhanded smugness. 4 more days...
-
I noticed the tone when I read it too and can't say I was happy with it. The message that the game is tested and played repeatedly, although I understand they may not play it quite as much as some of us, it makes me wonder how they are actually playing to have kept that number. My titan got down to 20 parts last night and I used my alts to feed weapon parts from stuff they had that I haven't had time to use with them - I had another 200 parts roughly. Armour parts on the other hand......I saw someone quote 10:1 for armour to weapon drop ratio and this seems to fit with my experience (and 3oC drops too strangely). I agree with a lot of what's been said, and in part seems to show the path of development - PoE etheric drops being effectively uselss for the main part, yr2 wiping out all yr1 items and the relevance of its content. Maybe I'm just not playing it the way it was intended to be but I thought that the idea was for everyone to be able to play in their own way.

Edited by Corrick II: 11/6/2015 3:13:38 PMAgreed, there's usually a pretty heavy "nudge and a wink" tone that at times can seem a little smarmy, I don't think they mean any harm by it. The news update posts can seem to go out of their way to be clever (and a little condescending) but I just take the facts and leave the rest.
-
If they try to be a little more personable, they're accused of being unprofessional If they try to be as professional as possible, they're accused of not caring about the community and that they're just a corporate lackey So tell me, what would've made you happy? Bc if them trying to joke around a little offends you, and them lacking all emotion would have as well, I don't see what they could've done to appease you
-
I'd get an attitude if everybody took a shit on the game I created. It's always something too.
-
Yes I notice it. It really rubs me the wrong way. Deej is a total tool and Luke Smith is a terribly arrogant A-hole. They think WAY too highly of themselves and their broken ass game. All we can do is stop playing and stop buying DLC's. AND FOR GODS SAKE DON"T BUY SILVER FROM THESE MONEY GRUBBING BASTARDS!!!!!!! They never "fix" the glaring issues with the game only create more with each update.... You do remember the Hunter still doesn't have a skill unlocked because they don't know how to fix it but they still took our money and made all year one gear worthless.... BAD BUSINESS
-
Bump. They totally came off as assholes this update
-
Thank you for this!
-
It's the best way to speak to most of the self entitled brats here to be honest. End of the day it's their forums.
-
Anyone check him on Twitter yesterday? Something, something, something, December update...............wormspore too.

no balls toxic loser
