Here's how it would work:
PVE: Create Your Own Strike
For custom Strikes, you could choose which planet to base it on (this would decide the background vista.) Then, you could set up the path, objectives, bosses, etc. But what would really make this cool, is that you could have ANY ENEMIES on ANY PLANET. You could have Vex on Earth if you wanted! As well, you could choose from existing loot as rewards, or maybe create your own Strike loot. Once you finished, you could publish it, and it would appear in a new Vanguard playlist called "Vanguard Creation" or something.
This last part wouldn't be entirely necessary, but maybe Bungie could select a Strike that was really good, followed the lore, etc, convert it so it could be played on PS and Xbox, and have it be the Nightfall.
PVP: Create Your Own Maps
This would be like the map editor in Far Cry. You would again choose which planet you want, set up the map, choose which playlist it would support, set up ammo crate spawns, player spawns, etc. Now unlike custom Strikes, I don't think Bungie would highlight any maps, but there would be Crucible playlists for the maps. They could be "Creation Control," "Rumble," "Clash," etc.
This needs to happen! It could really fix Destiny's repetitive nature!

Yes Destiny needs to become an fps, mmo, rpg, sandbox, Moba, platformer

Judging by what they've told us about the editing features, I don't want that option because it would be such a pain in the ass to get anything done.
-
It'd be interesting, but it won't happen. It's literally why the community creations page is my favorite part of the game... and it's not even a part of the actual game.

I agree but it would kill the game more than help it. Support will stop and there wouldn't be any need for developers to create new content because people won't find the need to buy DLC. This should only be implemented as a last resort after they terminate support for the game so it can live on.
