To be honest, I think you're digging into this a bit too deep. The comments Bungie made seemed to be lighthearted and meant to be taken as a joke. We need to leave it at that. They are more than aware of some bad decisions they've made in the past. They are trying to fix some of those issues. Be thankful that they do care and are trying to work things out.
