He's literally just saying what no other business has the balls to say. Also note that almost no one on these forums are professional, polite or constructive! You don't go into a restaurant and scream obscenities at the chef unless you want him to wipe his butt with your sandwich.
I'm not saying it's right! I'm just saying it's perfectly understandable.

How is this understandable when this is a game that takes pride in improving itself based around what the community wants?

Because. All the community does is whine and complain and find fault with every single thing! It wouldn't matter what they do next, half the forumites would find a reason it was the worst thing to ever happen.

Theres a reason that this is something no other business is willing to say and that reason is because it's bad for business. If criticizing your audience was a successful business practice, I promise you would see it so much more.

Of course it isn't good business! But I don't mind a bit of honest conversation, so it doesn't bother me.

There are plenty of positives that have happened to this game because people bitched about them on the forums. This is a game that is developed with import from the community. It's the same way with politics in America. You might not agree with everyone else's opinion, but it is still very important that there are a diverse selection of beliefs and values that keep our elections honest.
