I agree with the post. I think the majority of people miss the bigger picture and just want to get the chance to be a dickhead. Every time I see a logical and reasonable post, people hate it and call OP "sensitive" or tell him "it's just a video game." While it is a game, we all spend a lot of time in it and feel we have carved our very own piece of the Destiny world out for ourselves. We are involved on a personal level. Although at this point, most vets should know that Bungie makes a business out of making our hard work be for nothing. As for the whole weapon parts famine, I was also one of those guys who rerolled everything under the sun to get a perfect roll and try new things. Auto rifles (even though they were shit), hand cannons, pulse rifles, shotguns (I specifically rolled 3 shotguns with battle runner and shot package, as well as a party crasher with rangefinder and luck in the chamber), sniper rifles (most people went for final round, I went for a her benevolence with clown cartridge and performance bonus. Also rerolled some low grade humilities) and the mother of all rerolls, rocket launcher with proximity and tripod. Why should I be punished for using a system that they created and wanted us to use? MANY of us wanted to reroll weapons. Just because some elitist pricks never rerolled anything and ended up with over a thousand weapon parts doesn't mean the whole community should suffer. I'd probably have over 2 thousand weapon parts if I never rerolled a single weapon. Before you say go run prison of elders or strikes, I ran both before TTK came out for vanilla armor and weapons and I ran at least 30 straight lvl 28 prisons so I could reach rank 3 and get the shaders. Nobody wants to do all that just to TRY a new weapon out. God forbid we want to infuse anything! Now I have legendary marks for days because I don't have the weapon parts to infuse into anything. Bungie has no clue how to manage their own economy system. Stats don't lie, but stats don't account for what's really going on.

100% correct. But people will still be trolls. The economy was just fine before they decided to screw with it. This argument from the trolls is no different then the stupid, elitist argument of who started playing when. "Oh, I've got an alpha/beta emblem; ergo, 'git gud scrub.'" Really? Congrats. Here's a quarter: call someone who cares. There's so much "special currency" that gets introduced only to be removed shortly after, it's ridiculous. It'd be like the U.S. changing from dollar, to peso, to forint, to rial, only to say, "Let's go back to dollar." Make up your mind, Bungie. And the worse part is, they have the audacity to condescend when we use their broken, convoluted system. Well, you designed it, Bungie, so look in the mirror you dummies.

  • There's no "logic" to disliking snark. OP is just too sensitive. Quick rule of thumb: anyone who explicitly appeals to logic and reason doesn't know what they're talking about and are likely a GG weirdo.

  • Dude, I rolled so many weapons I ended up with 0, that's right 0 weapon parts the week before weapon 2.0 patch dropped. I've upgraded so many weapons since TTK was launched, including 3 characters, pve, pvp and raid weapons. I've even used a few to level up faction (although not too many) and I still have over 750 weapon parts across my characters. Learn to manage your materials.

  • It is pretty ironic how the person who can not manage his resources says a company can not manage their ecosystem. The big issue all of you seem to miss is that weapon parts are not only used for infusion. Everything in this game is linked to something or several other things. When trying to balance one thing you have to think how it effects the whole.

There is more evidence to Bungie not being able to manage their own in game economy and anything to the contrary is moot. -introduction of Etheric Light -introduction of purchasable Planetary Materials -introduction of Material Exchanges (Ascendant Materials and Radiant Materials for Motes or Glimmer) -Consolidation of Class Specific Armor Materials into a single material The game economy is a constantly changing entity but Bungie is never anticipating anything but rather reacting to community feedback. Excluding the weapon parts nerf. Oh, and I manage my materials just fine. Not using weapon parts and hoarding a thousand doesn't mean they are managing materials responsibly. Like I said, god forbid I want to experiment with the "biggest set of weapons released to date."

  • All those things you listed made the game economy much better. I'd rather have the current economy then the one at release where I spent half my time farming for planet mats. Also people have been using the excess weapon parts to level up factions easily

  • The point of it was they introduced new materials with every expansion but after a while people built up an excess. As you would with anything if you don't have anything to use it on. Then, when a new material was introduced, the old would become completely irrelevant even though you'd still earn them (doing Daily missions and getting Ascendant Materials, as well as public event packages etc). When a new expansion releases, they haven't been very good at making sure old materials are being put to good use. I think making planetary materials purchasable was a great idea. I think making weapon parts purchasable is a good idea too. But we wouldn't even need to make them that way if they left things alone. Or if they lowered the amount of weapon parts required for upgrading nodes or infusion.

Why you make a reroll if you cant spend materials for it, is like the "reroll" of the exotics and that shit is bad, i just pay for 1 set of those things Xur sell and i was very dissapointed about how it works.
