I agree that it was sarcastic, but it made me laugh.
Looked more like humor than a rude gesture to me.
Then again, I'm hard to offend.
I also agree that they should have had a use for Etheric light with TTK launch, but I didn't expect it. They're notorious for making currency useless.
They should have just made it more common for things to require wormspore.
