I just read the weekly update, and I am not really seeing this passive aggressive tone.
The 1600 weapon parts part was obviously an attempt at humour, and a successful one at that.
As for the rest of the comment, he is just informing us that they hold the right to tinker with the game in any way they see fit, but they also have a right to change their mind should their original opinion turn out to be wrong. If anything, it was ownership of a mistake. They made a change that they thought was in the best interest of the game and now they are accepting and admitting they were wrong.
Some of you need to chill out a bit. What is the point of companies engaging with the community if all they are going to get is over-reactions and emotional misjudgements?
To be honest, with the way this community conducts itself, I am surprised Deej hasn't told you all to go -blam!- yourselves.

The 1600 weapon parts attempt at humor was pathetic. It's sad you actually think it was in any way funny. It was a terribly executed joke.
-
You sir are right on the money.
-
I totally agree. I think those of us who think like adults are constantly in disagreement with those who think like (and obviously are) kids.
-
Bump.
-
Bro your not allowed to come at this from a logical, intelligent way. You may break the Internet.
-
You best comment ever

I agree with you. But i also agree with OP. Bungie has made a great game absolute shit. They've -blam!-ed up so much it's barely playable. But when it's good it's great, unfortunately 90%of the time it's absolute trash.
-
Plus one.
-
I would get the biggest kick out of bungie ,Deej, or any of the group to come out and just call it like it is and tell the community to go -blam!- themselves. That would be an epic moment in gaming history. The funniest part is that I would respect them more. Everyone would moan and cry and very very few would leave the game. This community deserves to be put in its place, I just wish bungie had the balls to do it.
-
Do not be afraid to admit that Bungie has screwed you! And people are leaving Bungie... They have lost about 40 - 50 procent of the users... Bungie not laughing at the moment, but crying and panicking and trying currently to rescue Destiny with constantly updating the game ...
-
Unfortunately they won't. They sell games to children so they have to tread lightly. It's to bad because you know every time they go for an after work beer they read these posts out loud and just laugh their -blam!-ing heads off at the entitlement, idiocy and arrogance from their children customers. Back to when Luke issued an apology for the "Throw money at the screen" comment. I remember reading hat interview and literally laughing out loud I thought it was so funny. After he apologized I lost a little respect for Bungie, but hey, their product is sold to children so I guess they have to lower their intelligence expectations.
-
I know. Everybody spends their weapon parts leveling up factions then cries that they don't have any more. I have a pretty full collection of year 2 weapons and I still have over 1500 parts which I started at beginning of TTK.
-
then we have the fight to return our digital copy game and deej is a -blam!-ing loser watch the taken king bungie live stream guy just seems shifty AF
-
NO NO see you have to find ONE LINE in the update.....then you take it OUT OF CONTEXT....then you get all EMOTIONAL over a game..... then you RANT about NOTHING for ATTENTION..... hahahaha Just trying to help you understand these morons.
-
Well, that's what happens when you try to be sarcastic online...sarcasm is detected in voice intonation of voice coupled with over-exaggeration...no way to discern so it's up to individual interpretation. People do have 1000+ weapon parts so... besides, his sarcasm isn't witty or funny in any way and that's the truth lmfao.
-
I thought it was pretty funny.
-
It's only funny to people who have enough weapon parts lol...i.e. people who don't raid.
-
Just the fact that we are seeing all these comments and posts about how people interpreted it as passive aggressive mean the "joke" wasn't successful at all. It was a stupid joke that was too open to interpretation thanks to the lack of intonation and body language that doesn't happen over print communication. Someone needs to proofread Deej's updates for problems like this that can arise. When he updates, as an employee, he is speaking on behalf of Bungie. Bungie needs to be sure that whatever jokes or little snippets of "personality" within the update needs to have very little room for interpretation.
-
Lol... serious extremes here. I read it as both as a jab and an attempt at humour that ultimately isn't that funny. Weapon parts is an issue for some people... and to make a joke out of it is essentially condescending. It's pretty much saying, your issue is just a joke...nothing really that serious and we're not going to take it seriously. People can read it as that their opinions are just a big JOKE to Deej. Yes, the community overreacted over weapon parts of all things but it is a very annoying thing when you don't have enough...really f*king annoying. It's Deej's job to handle criticism and calm the crowd with news and updates. If he can't take the heat...he can quit and go do something else with his life. The internet is no place for sensitive little bitches.

Edited by a fat white cat: 11/6/2015 8:34:48 PMThe fact that people are in a uproar about a shortage of weapon parts inside of a game is a joke. It's not like you are short on your house payment because your boss took away a raise. When compared to real life, a shortage of weapon parts is just a very minor issue
-
I think there's a few people clamoring while most are nodding in agreement or complaining. Much of it is built-up frustration over many issues left unfixed or unaccounted for. Yes, an uproar about weapon parts is ridiculous. Nobody that's complaining here has a "real life" issue so that whole point is moot lol. The biggest issue in their life is not having a date to prom (which they probably won't go bc they need to be playing Destiny) and weapon parts.
-
It's the straw that broke the camels back.

Lol back in my day I chose to for go my senior prom to get my motorcycle license for the r6 I bought. Kids these days rather play video games. I can only imagine how many kids on here are virgins. Seems like a lot of them need to get laid to reduce some stress
