The man who first said, "The customer is always right," died alone and broke in a mental institution. He is most certainly not a man whose advice I would follow.[/quote]

3 people who pioneered the customer is always right philosophy. They revolutionized customer and employee rights and treatment and were widely successful despite doing relatively unheard of things like full cash refunds and full employee benefits.
Only one of their fortunes suffered in his late life and this was after he retired and he certainly didn't die alone due to a huge stockpile of good friends from his years of being a nice buissnessman and having 5 children with a loving wife.
The point is
A. You're talking out of your ass.
B. You can certainly make money and be successful by being good to your customers and valuing giving them a good experience.
The opposite is true , you can make money and be a dick, but only because they are allowed to by the ones with the real power, the consumer. Why make a person begrudgingly buy things from you when you can make the customer happy and still buy something from you. A happy customer is more likely to be a repeat customer, especially in a competitive sector.
