I agree that there is an appropriate way to handle disagreeances. That being said, it is certainly more the responsibility of bungie to remain professional, than it is for all of the teenagers on the forums to remain professional.

I think it's the responsibility of those teenagers to stop dishing it out if they can't take it. Like, really, you can't handle some sarcasm after 1000x that is dished out towards Bungie every 15 minutes? Fools need to put their big boy pants on and learn to deal with a world that's gonna put them in their place if they act like a douche and most certainly isn't going to kiss their asses 24/7 once they leave their mommy's house
-
Lol, so instead of the easy and realistic fix of editing their updates a little better, you think it's more realistic to expect a bunch of teenagers to suddenly grow up. Do I even need to point out the flaws in this logic?
-
What flaws? Some brat is disrespectful to everyone he comes across but when faced with the tiniest bit of sarcasm thrown his way he runs home crying about how badly he's been treated? I could care less if it's realistic or not that he mans up any time soon, it doesn't make it the fault of the other person.

Son, have you ever worked in customer service. Just because one customer is a brat, you don't get to go back and harass the rest of your customers because of it.
-
I think you missed my point: What Deej said in the weekly update is not the definition of harassment to anyone over the age of 13. If someone is that easily offended then these forums are not the place for you.

Edited by Sparkinate: 11/6/2015 6:30:42 PMWell that seems like a generalization, and I think you'll find (as this thread clearly proves) that plenty of people thought it was a little more offensive than you did( edit: , regardless of how reasonable those emotions may have been.) Regardless of whether or not me and you find out insulting, it's a little more important whether your community find it insulting. Clearly there is a significant amount of the community who did think it was insulting. Deej's one job is as a liason to the community. There is no argument that this weekly update could have avoided all of this drama with a simple edit.

Edited by bobswerski: 11/6/2015 6:12:19 PMI suppose we will have to agree to disagree, including on whether or not this thread "proves" that reasonable people should be offended by the update in the context of all the nonsense that goes on around here on a daily bases. (edit: or honestly not in that context either)

It doesn't matter whether or not the butthurt is reasonable. His job as a public relations liason is to try to make as little butthurt as possible. He failed. And the mistake is starting us in the face in the weekly update. Period.

Edited by bobswerski: 11/6/2015 6:48:26 PMWhen it stops mattering if what people say or do is reasonable our society is in big trouble.

I'm sorry but i live in a democracy and its vital that there is a diverse amount of opinion. Well reasoned or not, it's this diversity of opinion that keeps things honest and promotes forward thinking discussions.

Edited by bobswerski: 11/6/2015 7:42:20 PMWell reasoned and reasonable are not the same thing, and a right to voice your opinion is not and should not be a guarantee that your opinion must be given the same weight or merit as another. Not all opinions are valid... Would you let a 9 year old decide how to spend the family budget? Do you let that crazy cat lady who lives down the street make laws? Do you let Donald trump... Ok let's skip that one. The point is, opinions are like a-holes, everyone has one and most of them stink.
