  • I think a less intelligent person is the person who didn't notice they had 1000 weapon parts and counting and continued stockpiling for no (foreseeable) practical reason.

  • How is it not? You are spending something you have, for a random chance at something you want. Any person with any sense of logical reasoning wouldnt proceed to spend EVERYTHING they have to get said random thing.

  • The difference is that your analogy would only be accurate if you got a paycheck every single day, and then suddenly your wage got cut in half. Hopefully you would have some money saved up, but there will be plenty of people who, thinking there wouldn't be any upcoming shortage, spent all of their resources, knowing that those resources were easy to come by.
