I don't disagree that shots are pretty easy to connect on in destiny as a whole, but you still have to find the hit box even if the spread is a little off the body.
Overall though, while the gunplay is fun for me at least, it's obviously as you pointed out, not the most skilled part of the game. The skill level in destiny is more distinguished by movement ability and situational awareness.
People can say what they want about there being no skill in destiny, but some players are better than others in the crucible, and if there really wasn't any kind of technique involved then everyone would be on a relatively level playing field, and they definitely aren't.

I think it boils down to who has the most op build and who can use the exploits the best with a dash of skill.

I say bullshit, i run fusion rifles and hand cannons and manage to not get "rekt" in pvp.
-
But you cant deny it disadvantages you.

Using a hand cannon post 2.0 yes, im using First Curse right now and the accuracy is off. But with fusion rifles absolutely not, they're amazing even after all the nerfs

I think that the higher skill variant for Destiny relies on strategy and understanding mechanics. Destiny is more geared toward understand how to defeat high level enemies like those in the raid. For me PvP feels more like something that was tacked on to appease more people because having just PvE would only hold half the gaming community.

Strategy and mechanics is a perfect way of putting it. You are really rewarded for understanding how to position yourself tactically in destiny, especially when takin on multiple enemies, or responding when extra enemies enter your space
