So I have a quick question for anyone who is well-versed in Home Theatres and such.
I will be acquiring an XBox One in less than four days (Fallout 4 bundle, whoo!), and assumed that my so-so power strip/surge protector would be adequate to keep the thing going. That being said, I recently discovered that Microsoft recommends that you plug the PSU (power brick) directly into the wall, as it has it's own built-in surge protection, and will malfunction if you plug it into another surge protector. My reaction was less "seems legit" and more "UwotM8?", as this goes against everything I have ever known about electronics.
Anyway, my question is this:
Should I plug the console directly into the wall, as Microsoft recommends, plug it into my existing power strip, or go spend $50-$75 on a APU 550 just to be safe?
Thank you for your time, and hopefully I can get an answer sooner rather than later. :/

Mine has been working fine into a power strip
